JC was a very bored kitten. Justin had left him cooped up in the
hotel room yet again. He was getting sick and tired of not having
anyone around to play with. Sighing he heaved himself up onto the bed
and rolled on to his back scratching that irritating itch and re-
tracing the events of earlier. How Justin had left him with a kiss
and a mumbled day of events, but promised to be back for breakfast at
9:30. How JC had ordered room service at 9, it arrived at 9:20 and JC
had finally eaten it by himself at 10:30, extremely heart-broken. After that he had given himself a bath. He and Justin had reached an
agreement, JC could tongue-bathe himself all he wanted. As long as he
used some sweet-smelling body lotion afterward and showered at least
once a week. But since Justin seemed to no longer love him, then well
JC was going to stink all he wanted. Although, once the bath was
over, he had a hankering for blueberries; so on went the lotion. After that, he had messed with his squeaky mouse, played with his
yarn and threw spongebob out the window at the teenies down below.
Then wrapping himself in a quilt, he had watched Animal Planet til
that stupid Crickey guy Steve Irwin had come on, he hated that man
with a passion. Now Jeff Corwin was a winner, no one did Lions
better. After that he had pretty much been where he was now, bored
out of his mind. Sighing some more, he pulled himself off the bed and onto the window
seat. Laying his head on his paws he layed down to have an afternoon
nap when something caught his eye. A mother cat and 3 kittens. They
were so cute! They were little bitty fluffs of cuteness. One was
gray, one was orange and the last one was the fluffiest. It was white
with redish/brownish ears & paws. Intrigued, JC had watched the small family play with bits of trash
and each other. After awhile JC watched as all the kittens ran over
to their mom to nurse. All except the white one. He watched in shock
as the gray and the orange nursed mother, but anytime the white tried
to get close, the mother would chase it away. Tears filled JC's eyes
as he watched. That poor baby was just like him, alone, discarded,
not loved. He stood up, pulled on some jeans over his tail, tore off
his ears and rushed to the door. "Eric, I need your help." Quickly JC began to ramble off everything
that he wanted Eric to do. After Eric was sent out, he called Lonnie
on his cell phone and told him where the cat family was located and
which kitten to bring up. After all the parties had been notified and
supplies had been delievered, JC got to work. He first grabbed
the "Caring For Kittens" book and read up on how the kittens
replacement milk was to be adminstered and how much should be given.
JC placed some of the milk into a small kitten bottle and placed it
in the portabl microwave to warm. Then he set to work warming a towel on the towel warmer to wrap the
tiny feline up in. Then, he cleared a spot on the bed to stretch out
and feed the baby. According to the book he had to "Hold the kitten
on your lap on a clean, warm towel. If the kitten is old enough to
stand on all fours, this is a good feeding position; if not, hold the
kitten up-right, tilting the bottle slightly, so the nipple can be
easily grasped by the kitten's mouth" But JC had other plans. He was going to be the kittens father, in
every single way. He didn't have the nursing ability, but he was sure
he could simulate it. He walked over the towel warmer and touched the
towel to see if it was warm enough for his baby. It was. He had just
brought it into his hands when the door opened and Lonnie walked in
with the bit of fluff that was to be his new child. Unfortuantely,
the bit of fluff was a yowling crazed animal. Grimacing at the angry
red scratches on Lonnie's arms, JC grasped the towel and wrapped it
around the baby. After being relieved of his burden, Lonnie took off
yelling "Congratulations JC, its a girl!" JC laughed and pulled back the towel to peer at the tiny girl. The
warmth of the towel had calmed her down immensly. Or maybe it was the
fact that JC was looking at her with such love that all the fight
drained out of her. Whatever it was, it didn't matter. JC cuddled her
close and walked to the bed. He laid her down and she weakly got to
her feet and meowed at JC. He nodded and moved to the microwave, he
knew she was hungry, he had no clue how long mother had been
depriving her of food. After getting the bottle he walked back to the
bed and flopped down. The kitten looked at him with wide eyes and danced away from him.
But JC gently called to her and she walked back over purring lloudly.
JC laid down on his side facing her, he placed the bottle on a pillow
that was level with the kitten in front of his stomach. He called to
the kitten and placed the nipple in her tiny mouth; it took a few
seconds but she was nursing like a pro. Purring loudly himself, JC
curled his lithe body around her and began to bathe her tiny body.
After her bottle was done and her bath was over. And both were
settling down for a nap, JC whispered in her ear "Your name is going
to be Kylie, it means graceful." After a few minutes both cats were
sound asleep and that is how Justin found them when he returned.
