Big Risk,Big Reward???

The Franchise Formerly known as Washington will look nothing like it did last year in more ways than just a new city and new jerseys. After being upset in the second round of the Eastern playoffs the team was blown up and a very different looking team starts this season. Is Tim Richards crazy or crazy like a fox? We sat down with him to try and find out:

Today we are in Arkansas talking with Tim Richards about his stingers the first obvious question is why are we here and not in Washington. why the move?

Well of course as you know management decided to take on a new role with this team if you will and rebuild it and we thought that since most of what Washington was found itself being moved that this was the best thing for the team to start new in a different location

Yes that leads to my next question why the demolition job on your roster this was a playoff team last season some have called this an over reaction your responce?

I can see where most people get their opinions in this situation and again like we said a few months ago during the post season, we had plans for this team and we thought that losing in the first second or even conf. finals wasn't good enough for a team of this caliber and we don't want to coach or manage a franchise that can't meet certain goals that are set so no matter what is said outside of this franchise, we're happy with what was done

Yes but those changes led to some serious cap problems any regrets at all?

You know your right and yes a few at the beginning but my feeling have changed now that the situation has been taken care of

Ok lets get a little more positive you have acquired some outstanding talent care to comment on some of your new faces?

Well i think the new faces coming in are going to be some outstanding additions to this arkansas team. we are getting great scoring abilities from Bill Andrews who we will be aquiring from Oregon, great passing from Buck Jones who can also put a couple points on the board, and we also brought in Cristobal Dasher from Toronto who we thought was the best player to bring in to help boom-boom down low. he can rebound and can score as well

Yes being from Toronto i am aware of Buck and C-dash talent. You now find yourself in a brand new divison the southern divison and are in the western conference your thoughts on those to matters?

Well its gonna be a little tougher to move from the east to the west being that we meet the west teams four times rather than two but i don't think our division will be that bad to play in compared to others but there will be struggles for us i feel maybe for a season or two

Any specfic teams you care to comment on?

Well not to say anybody won't do great or has the capability to be great but i think for now all we really are concerned about is capetown and cancun who can only get better but we'll be looking out for charlotte in a couple of years because we now plummer should have them on their feet by that time

Ok lets switch gear to some league matters. The commisioner in a recent interview has stated the WBA will be called much more tightly an concerns for you?

No not really i just tend to sit back on these things and let them handle it and go out and do what the team and i are supposed to and thats go out and win games

Fair enough this has been a long off season with many issues coming out and some spirited debate you have any thoughts as we move forward towards next offseason?

Well this is something i'd rather not comment on at this time and again would just sit back and let them do what they think they need to do going towards next off season

That is understandable last question we are asking all the owners in the other conference who the expect to win the west and owners in the west who will win the east so who do you like to win it all in the east?

Look at you i move outta of the east to the west yet you still got me in their business and commenting on them haha but in all seriousness i like Paris in this conference because they have a lot of fire power in their line-up and i'm a big fan of Heiko Van Brandt who i thought just last season came off his best presentation of his career so again i think paris has the upper hand Just trying to avoid bias and get some honest opinions for the WBA fans.

Well thats about it unless you have anything you care to add?

Only want to give a shout out to all of the arkansas stinger fans who throughout it all this off season are still with us and backing us up and i thank them for all of their support

And we thank you good luck to you and best of luck this season

Thank you for having me i've enjoyed it
