Demo's
Background
Demo is the team's explosives
and demolitions expert. He knows all there is to know about bombs, missiles and
other things that explode. He can build and/or disarm almost anything. Demo is
somewhat of an inventor, thinking of new kinds of explosives to create as well as new
explosive and combustible substances. Demo is very sensitive about his height
(since he's much shorter than anyone else on the team) and he will go off like a bomb when
someone makes fun of it. When he's not doing what Raven and Shade have dubbed
E.D.M.R (Explosive Demo Midget Rage) or playing with explosives, he is usually a pretty
nice guy. Demo isn't afraid of anything or anyone and enjoys coming up with creative
problem solving methods. He's the kind of guy who thinks that solution to any
problem is to blow it up.
Demo was born in San Jose,
California in the United States. Demo was born into a filthy rich family who
decided to have him start school at an early age. He skipped kindergarten and went
right on to first grade before he was 4 years old. He went to a private school for
filthy rich people like himself and while he made some friends, he didn't bother to keep
them after finding the one thing that would later drive his life, explosions.
He was in 3rd grade when it
happened. His class was building model rockets to launch outside. Demo thought
it would be fun to stick more than one engine in the bottom of his rocket so he grabbed
several C engines and shoved them in there. There were three in all. When his
class went out of launch their rockets, his exploded (one of the C engines had cracked
along the grain of the solid rocket fuel), setting fire to the other rockets on the launch
pad. It was at that moment that Demo became obsessed with fire and explosions.
When Demo was 10 he had already
built several bombs from designs that he had found on the internet, even modifying them to
the degree that they had the capabilities to take out a whole city block. He created
his own time bombs and explosives that went off at the push of a button from a remote
detonator. Demo usually spent his spare time blowing up expensive statues in the
courtyard and backyard garden with several of his remote controlled devices.
Needless to say, he didn't get in too much trouble and didn't have to pay for them and the
damages the fires caused. Instead, his father, who was the owner of a company that did
pyrotechnics and explosions for Hollywood productions, was thrilled that his son was
following in his footsteps.
At age 15 Demo graduated from High
School after completing all ten advanced, college level courses. He saw no need to
go to a normal college since his high school had offered many advanced college level
courses in math and science, which he took and passed with exceedingly high marks.
Demo got a job working for his father's company and accompanied his father to Hollywood
for the shooting of the new "Anti-Biotic" movie. Demo helped set up the
explosives for several of the big scenes.
During the last scene, Demo got a
little over ambitious, using way more explosives than were actually necessary for the
insulin tanker explosion. When the blast went off, it killed everyone on set,
including Demo's own father. Demo himself was delivered a cut on his cheek from a
piece of shrapnel that would later turn into a scar. Demo, while saddened by the
death of his father, was utterly thrilled by the magnitude of the explosion he had
caused. Demo said a prayer for his father, holding the silver cross on a chain that
his mother, who was devoutly religious, had given him. Demo himself was atheist and
this was the only time he had prayed for anyone in his life. He wasn't praying to
"God", he was praying to his mother.
After all the chaos had died down
Demo was quoted saying, "My father had always said that he had wanted to go out
with a bang. Well he got his wish." Demo was taken into custody and
sentenced to life in prison for what was ruled an "accidental" murder of over 55
people. Demo was then imprisoned, where he stayed there for two years.
During that time he learned of the death of his mother. She committed suicide
after being consumed by the grief caused by her husband's death and her son's
imprisonment. Demo was deeply effected by his mother's death, even more so than his
father's. To this day Demo still wears the cross even though he does not
believe. He wears it in remembrance for his mother, since it is the only thing he
has left of her.
At the end of those first two years,
he was liberated from his prison by a group of dark blue uniformed soldiers. He was
removed from his cell and taken back to VIN Headquarters where he agreed to join the group
since they promised to feed his still ever growing desire for explosions. Demo was
sent to training for a year along with seven other viruses, who after a while he got to
know like the brothers he had never had and they became the family that he had lost.
It wasn't until he met the commander of their new group called Stryker Team Alpha that he
felt his new family to be complete.
Demo is always an integral part
of Stryker missions, especially when large amounts, some times excessive amounts, of force
is needed. While Draco provides the leadership, he provides the initial force to
back up her commands. Demo is also specialy trained for missions that require him to
don a wetsuit and sneak into millitary bases or any other building close to water and of
course, blow it up.
