I'd
like to welcome everyone, and begin by introducing myself. I'm Dat, and I'll be
your Best Man for the evening. But before I make my Toast, I'd like to pose a
question to the Groom...
If I'm the BEST man at a wedding....the BEST man....what does that make you??
Well, I thought about it, and I have my answer:
I'm the Best Man. But you're...the Lucky Man. And Lisa, in your heart of hearts,
you know you're pretty lucky too.
I've known this guy my entire life. And he has been the kind of friend everyone
strives to be, the kind of friend everyone hopes to have. I think the true
definition of Great Friend is someone who knows everything about you...and has
the good taste to never bring it up. But the funny thing about the two of us
was, whenever one of us wanted to do something really...unwise...the other was
there to talk him out of it. When Khoa wanted to jump off the garage roof with
only an umbrella, I talked him out of it. When Khoa wanted to wear the powder
blue tuxedo to our senior prom, I talked him out of it. And when Khoa wanted to
drill a hole in the wall of the girls' locker room...well, we both pretty much
agreed on that one...
But then, one day, not so long ago, Khoa came to me, and told me he was thinking
of asking Lisa to marry him. I did not try to talk him out of it. Not for a
second. Because from day one, there has been a sparkle around both of you
that everyone can see. We should all be so lucky. So please, raise your glass,
and join me in toasting the luckiest people in the room. To Khoa and Lisa, a
lifetime of happiness, health and success.
