LIFE EXPECTANCY
During the 20th century, many more Americans began living longer then 65 years of age. On the graph shown in the link provided below, it shows how the age structure changed in the Untied States between the years 1990-2000. Even between only 10 years, thousands more people began to live past 100 years old. In the year 2050, the predicted amount for people over 85, as shown on the graph, exceeds 8 million for males and 14 million for females. Thats a 11 million age difference for women and a 6 million age difference for men.

LEADING CAUSES OF DEATH
the leading causes of death cary from age group between 1981 and 1998. The major cause of death for people of all ages was heart disease, with 13,398,309 deaths in the U.S. Heart disease was also the number 1 cause of death for all ages between 1999 and 2002. Other major causes were suicide, unintentional injury, homocide, liver disease, and lung disease. They really didn't change much, but between 1999-2003, suicide became a bigger cause of death, and leads deaths in Canada.

SOCIAL SECURITY
If people being to live longer, social security may increase the age until you can collect it. The amount seniors recieve now isn't much, but some also have jobs after retirement to bring in extra money.

ADVERTISING AND JOBS
Advertising would change to fit the needs of oldere people, because they will need medicine and other things to help them. Jobs will probably hire older people because they are skilled in work and there are an increasing number. Young people will be a threat to their job security, because they can work longer and get paid less.

LIFESTYLES OF THE ELDERLY IN 2050
The lifestyles will definately change. Older people will live like they did when they were growing up and act much differently than seniors do now. Most likely, they will listen to rock or rap, because thats how they were brought up. But it would be weird having a grandfather who listens to Snoop Dogg.
