Spring Festivals
Spring 1st: New Year's Festivel (Not available 1st Year
Description: The New Year's Festival is a 5-year-old+ rated festival. Tykes, stay at home. The point of this festival is to see how many people you can out-drink. (MADD's gonna have some words with Victor...)
Tips: The more you drink during the year, the more you can take. Normally, this'd be an expensive festival, cuz you'd have to pay for all those drinks at the bar. Not so now. Here's what you do. Assuming (did I spell that right?) that you bought the bottle from Rick at the Flower Festival thing (if you didn't, you're either an idiot or haven't played many RPG video games, one) you equip the bottle and head up to the Vineyard. Go into the shed and head down to the cellar. Go up to one of the barrels and press B button (sometimes one won't work, try the other if that happens). You should have your bottle filled with wine. Press B again to take a drink. Repeat a couple of times then leave. Do this every couple a days, and pretty soon you'll be able to drink any body under the table. (Jeez, I hope my mom doesn't catch me giving drinking tips to a buncha twelve year olds...)
Spring 8th: Sowing Festival
Description: The King, chosen in another festival, the Harvest Festival (Fall 12th) This festival is, in short, REALLY, REALLY boring. If you're not the King, I don't know if I'd even go. Maybe if it's your 1st time or something, but other than that, I usually just skip it LOL. By the way, heh heh, I kinda forgot to tell you what the festival's about. Whoops! The King goes up in a hot air ballon and scatters seeds, with another person he chooses.
Tips: If you're the King and trying to get a girl, choose her to go up with you, or, if you're really desparate to make friends with somebody else, like another guy, you can choose them instead.
Spring 17th: Horse Race
Description: Okay, the Horse Race. This happens several times a year. The Horse Race is just like real Horse Race: Horses Race. There's two things you can do at the Horse Race: you can race your horse, or bet on other people's horses.
Tips: If it's your 1st year, your horse won't be able to race (he'll be too little). And here's something to help the short funded with betting. Bet your medals evenly between all the horses, then exit the screen by pressing B button instead of clicking A button on the OK sign. Don't talk to her again. At the end of the race, you'll still have your money, you'll win your medals, and you'll win for sure cuz you bet even all the way around! For the REALLY short funded, it's a random choice who wins, so do what I said for the 1st race, bet all your money on one horse, and keep restarting if things don't go your way.

Spring 23rd: The Flower Festival
Description: In this festival, one of the 5 eligable girls dresses up like the Harvest Goddess, and the other 4 are kind of like her honor maids or something. The Harvest Goddess is selected through voting, and she gets, make that has (don't think any of 'em would do the Chicken Dance with the old Potions Master out of free will) to dance with the Harvest King. You also get to dance with whichever girl you ask to dance. The voting box, where you can vote for who ever you want to win Harvest Goddess, is located in the town square from the 18th-22nd
Tips: Unless your girlfriend's got a pink or yellow heart, or if you happen to be the king, YOU WANT HER TO LOSE. You do NOT want your girl to be the Harvest Goddess. The way things work: At the festival, you can ask any of the 4 girls not elected as Harvest Goddess to dance. The Harvest Goddess has to dance with the King, unless she is at a yellow or pink heart with you, and then the King will allow her to dance with you. If you are King, elect your girl as Goddess so you can dance with her. Are we clear? Ok. To make your girl lose, when you're at the voting booth, just vote for somebody else.
Tips Continued: If you haven't already, make sure you buy the bottle from Rick and the power berry from Wan (the guy in the yellow jumpsuit).
Summer Festivals
Summer 1st: Fireworks Festival
Description: In this festival, you just go and watch the fireworks with a girl you like at night. It increases their heart rating.
Tips: The girls are all at different places. Popuri is on Moon Mountain (I'm pretty sure she's up at the top of Moon Mountain, you know, like around the restaurant), Karen is at the Beach, Elli is in the yard of the Bakery, Maria is at the Town Square, and Ann is at Green Ranch.
Summer 7th: Bamboo Festival
Description: Okay, here's a festival that doesn't appear on the news and only works after you're married. At dusk, or right after dark, your wife will be standing by your house (If you're outside on your farm when dark falls, quickly exit then reenter. Did that make sense?). She'll ask you if you want to go to the Bamboo Festival. Say Yes, obviously, and you'll both reappear on Moon Mountain. You'll float a piece of Bamboo down the creek and make a wish, I think that's how it goes. If this isn't fixed for a couple of weeks, you can just assume that's the way it is. I'll check up on it. Promise ^_^
Summer 9th: Vegetable Festival
Description: The villagers all enter their vegatables that they've grown and the Gormet Judge (who is, unfortunately making a return in FOMT) will pick who's is the best. Kinda boring, huh?
Tips: This festival isn't really worth entering. You always lose, until you get a green house, that is. Enter the strawberries.
Summer 17th: Firefly Festival
Description: That night, the villagers float Firefly Lanterns out to the ocean in honor of the Dead. You can get one early, by the by, from Rick. I'll right it up in the Secrets Section after I get the details (and a Secrets Section LOL). You watch the Lights go out with your favorite girl, I do believe.
Summer 24th: Swimming Festival
Description: A festival in which all the bachelors get out there and race eachother to see who's the fastest swimmer.
Tips: The point is to be the first to reach the buoy. Supposedly, it has to do with timing your strokes (A button makes you kick), but it's really about tapping A-Button really, really fast. This festival is gonna be either really easy or really hard for you. If you lose, just make sure you saved the night before and restart. The prize is the Invincable Katori, which makes your greenhouse a lot stronger during hurricanes.
Fall Festivals
Fall 4th: Cow Festival
Description: At Green Ranch, they try and pick out the best cow from all the ranches. Doug will come by the day before and ask you to choose a cow. Pregnant cows and calves are not allowed.
Tips: Just make sure you enter a cow that produces Large Milk. Leave your cow out that night if it wins(if it's gonna rain, make an offering to the Goddess and wish for Weather), and a trio of girls who occasionally show up for the festivals will show up and get a picture with your cow, which'll be added to your album
Fall 10th: Moon Viewing
Description: Here's another one that's not on the calendar. Same thing as the Bamboo Float: you have to be married, meet your wife outside at dusk/dark, say yes; and go watch the romantic Full Moon. The Full Moon lasts until the twelfth, which MIGHT *hint hint cough cough nudge nudge wink wink* make the rare and elusive Full Moon Berry grow on top of Moon Mountain...
Fall 12th: Harvest Festival
Description: In this festival, you get to eat the food everybody ELSE fixed. They cook, you eat, and it's all free. Not half bad, huh? This is also the festival where they select the King. The King has a more active part in all the festivals, including the dance with the Goddess at the Flower Festival. It's good to be the King...
Tips: The selecting of the King is random. You know you're the King if you get the coin in your slice of cake (get it from Elli). Whether or not you get King is random. So save the night before, and if you don't get it, just reset the day and try again. No prob, right?
Fall 20th: Egg Festival
Description: This one's fun. It's my favorite, because I can actually win it ^_^ Okay, it's kinda like an easter egg hunt: the mayor calls out the color of an egg, and then you run around and look in the crates trying to find it. As soon as you do, run up to the Mayro and show it to him. You gotta hurry, though, it's timed.
Tips: There's really nothin' to it. Just hurry. And you can just reset if you lose.
Fall 24th: Horse Race
Description: 2nd Horse Race of the year. Same deal as the first, except now you can ride even if you're in your first year. The Horse Race is just like real Horse Race: Horses Race. There's two things you can do at the Horse Race: you can race your horse, or bet on other people's horses.
Tips: How hard racing your horse is gonna be depends on how much you've ridden your horse. The more you ride your horse, the higher your horse's stamina will be. In the corner of the screen, you'll see a little horse face. Behind it will be either Green, Yellow, or Red. You tap A or something to get your horse to go. I don't remember, just listen to the mayor about that bit. Anyway, the point is when it's Green, your horse is Runnin' Strong; Yellow, he's starting to be tired; and Red, he's utterly exhausted. The less tired your horse is, the faster it goes. Tap A or whatever it is you're supposed to do when your horse is green. When it goes yellow, slow down a bit or completely. If you're lucky, it'll get back up to green. If you push it too much, and your horse goes red, the race is over for you. You could restart it...

Winter Festivals
Winter 10th: Thanksgiving Festival
Description: Your Girl (or Girls...) come by and give you sweets.
Tips: Don't leave your farm all day, or else you'll miss somebody. If you've only got one, Firstly I'm impressed; Secondly, after your girl shows up and gives you her stuff, you can leave.
Winter 19th: Dog Race
Description: You race your dog. You don't have to worry about the button thing with this one, though. You just get to watch your dog race. The more you exercised & fed your dog the better chance it has of winning.
Tips: The same deal for betting at the horse race works for the dog race too. See Spring 17th for the details.
Winter 24th: Starry Night
Description: Go watch the (Starry) Night Sky with your girl.
Tips: Maria & Ann & Elli are at the Church, Popuri's at Moon Mountain again, and Karen's at the Beach.
Winter 27th: Spirit Festival
Description: A festival to keep away the evil spirits of the new year. If you have an ocarina (like in Zelda ^_^) you can play in the festival if the mayor invites you. You might have to be the King... can't remember (jeez, I'm about helpful, huh????)
Winter 30th: New Year's Festival
Description: You go to a party at one of many places (preferably whichever one your girl is at). The girl with the highest heart rating at the party will come out to you when you exit the building and ask you to come up to the mountain with her and watch the sun rise of the new year.
Tips: REMEMBER! THE GIRL WITH THE HIGHEST HEART RATING IS THE ONE THAT COMES OUT! IF 2 GIRLS ARE BOTH AT THE SAME HEART, IT'S WHICHEVER ONE'S BEEN THEIR THE LONGEST! Got it? Good. Now, the girls are, once more, at different places. Popuri, Elli, and Maria are all at the Church; while Anne and Karen are at the Bar partying. (P.S. Just in case anyone wanted to know, Big Brother Gray's also at the bar to make sure "Anne doesn't party too hardy" LOL)
