He shifted his eyes back to see Vegeta gripping the blanket covering him, trying to deflect his pain. Goku smiled when he was finished and wiped his hands on his shirt. Vegeta let out a long sigh a relief; the stinging sensation still singeing his face. Goku nodded in satisfaction and cleaned up the mess, taking it out of the room.
He then came back and looked down at Vegeta, inspecting him. Vegeta opened his good eye and stared back up at him questioningly. Goku then leaned down and put Vegeta’s left arm over his shoulder pulling him up. Vegeta winced at the pain as Goku pulled him to his feet.
“What…what are you doing?” Vegeta asked calmly.
“King Kai wants to see you,” Goku said as he began slowly walking Vegeta out of the room.
“King Kai?” Vegeta mumbled.
Goku led Vegeta outside. It was night and having been in the darkness for the longest time, it was soothing to Vegeta’s vision. Goku removed Vegeta’s arm from around his neck and let him stand. Feeling the pain surge in his right leg, Vegeta shifted his weight onto his other semi-good leg. He stood there for a minute getting his balance. As he did Goku walked over to King Kai.
“There was something you wanted to show me?” Goku asked him quietly.
King Kai nodded, then yelled, “Vegeta, look over here a second.”
Vegeta shifted his glance from his feet to Goku’s direction. As he did King Kai created an amazing light effect, which brightened up the whole planet. Vegeta felt his pupil in his eye shrink as he suddenly backed up and closed his eye tightly covering his face with his hands. Goku watched but he didn’t understand the purpose of King Kai’s trick, only that it was bothering Vegeta.
“I don’t get it,” Goku said.
“Just wait,” King Kai responded keeping his focus on Vegeta.
Vegeta couldn’t see. He couldn’t see anything; everything was just too bright. He backed up more trying to get his bearings but he couldn’t. He tried to open his eyes but the light was too blinding. With his sense of sight suddenly out of place Vegeta could feel himself tensing up. He had no idea what was going on but he didn’t like it one bit.
King Kai watched him for a few minutes before motioning to Bubbles. Bubbles walked over and slightly brushed Vegeta. Vegeta suddenly jerked at the gesture. As Bubbles ran away from him Vegeta yelled out in distress. He didn’t like this; something was attacking him, or trying to and he couldn’t see to defend himself. He gritted his teeth angrily suddenly becoming desperate to regain control of his vision.
Goku watched him questioningly before he felt the ground begin to vibrate lightly. The planet began to shake as windows on King Kai’s house began to crack. Goku then shifted his glance to Vegeta who was standing there with his hands over his eyes.
“What’s going on?” Goku asked looking over at Vegeta as the Planet began to crack underneath him.
“Amazing,” King Kai said to himself; then averting his attention back to Goku, “Goku, please knock him out.”
Goku stared at King Kai but then did as he was told. He moved swiftly and with a sharp hit to the side of his neck, Vegeta fell unconscious. Goku gently lay him down on the ground as King Kai finished his light trick. Goku looked down at Vegeta and then to King Kai.
“What you saw was an amazing amount of SL energy. I forgot that Vegeta was a Sayian,” King Kai said as he walked over.
“SL energy?” Goku asked looking at him.
King Kai nodded as he walked over. He looked down to Vegeta and pointed his antennae at him. Vegeta clothes suddenly became like new again. The clothes covered up his scars and scratches on his body, with the exception of his face. King Kai then focused on Vegeta eye and in another quick moment, a closed eyelid appeared where the missing eye had been. Goku watched in amazement. King Kai then turned his attention back to Goku as he motioned for him to leave Vegeta and follow him.
“Vegeta now possess a very effective defensive technique. It is judged the same as Ki energy only it is called SL energy, or Stress Level energy. SL energy can only be activated when the person is in extreme danger or when they feel they are in extreme danger.
