Bra turned to see her mother watching her and nodded softly. She picked up her doll and walked inside to the kitchen. Bulma walked over to the fridge and pulled out a loaf of bread. She then walked over to the cabinets pulling out the jars of peanut butter and jelly. Bra pulled out her chair at the table and climbed up in it sitting down. She sat her doll on the table and watched as her mother made sandwiches.

“Mom,” Bra said hinting that she was about to ask a question.

“What is it Bra?” Bulma asked as she finished making the sandwiches.

“How come Trunks never plays with me?”

Bulma smiled as she put the sandwiches on plates and brought them over to the table, setting one plate in front of Bra and keeping the other for herself, “He’s just like your daddy. I’m sure he’ll play with you when he comes back.”

“When is daddy coming back?” Bra asked as she took a bite of her sandwich.

Bulma smiled at her, watching her eat, “Soon I hope.”

Trunks flew a ways before reaching Gohan’s house. He landed in the front yard and walked up to the door. He knocked and waited patiently. As he waited for a response he tried to remember anything that he had heard about Gohan aside from the stuff Goten had told him. A few moments passed before the door opened.
Pan stood there staring at him; suddenly a big smile appeared on her face. Trunks looked at her suspiciously but then concentrated his thoughts to his fight.

“Pan, is Gohan home?” Trunks asked.

“No, Daddy is at work. You can play with me though,” Pan said with a smile.

Trunks was not about to play with Pan; it would be worse than playing with Bra. He knew that Pan liked him. Pan knew that Trunks knew this, but she didn’t care. She looked at him for a few seconds; he looked so cute when he was trying to be serious. Trunks was never good at looking serious, but when he did, Vegeta’s features appeared all across his face. Trunks looked at her, then sighed and shook his head, stating that he wasn’t interesting in playing with her.
He then waved goodbye to Pan, saying that he would try again later and took off heading away. Pan waved goodbye from the ground as she watched Trunks leave.

Trunks flew around for a while, crossing the countryside in deep thought. He hadn’t been the same since his father wasn’t around to tell him what to do. In fact he had been more severe on himself than Vegeta ever would have been. Trunks hoped that his dad would be able to tell if he had improved at all since they had last seen each other. As the sun was going down Trunks paused and hovered in the air watching it. He wondered if Vegeta had ever watched the sunset; he only knew his father vaguely. The wind softly blew through his hair as Trunks closed his eyes taking in the still softness of the evening. He took in a deep breath and then exhaled, slowly opening his eyes again. As the sun began to sink further into the ground, Trunks took off, heading towards home.
