Chapter Five: The Journey Is Just Beginning- Vegeta’s Sentence

Kaio-sama’s antennae suddenly twitched as a signal sparked through to his mind. He focused on it paying close attention to every detail. From afar Goku lay on the ground under the tree sleeping peacefully. He opened his eyes slowly and then yawned, stretching across the grass. Goku sat up rubbing his eyes. He noticed the concentrated look on King Kai’s face and stood up walking over to him.

“What’s going on King Kai?” Goku asked with a yawn.

“It’s Vegeta. The war is over on that planet,” Kaio-sama replied.

“Oh yeah?” Goku said looking at him.

“Yes. Vegeta has died.”

“WHAT?!” Goku exclaimed falling over.

Goku stood up and looked at King Kai, a shocked expression crossing his face, “You mean…he didn’t win??”

“No. He is being judged now by Lord Enma.”

“Wow that must have been one tough opponent to take Vegeta down. I mean he’s almost as strong as I am!” Goku said, at the same time thinking to himself.

Goku then let out a light laugh, “I guess I shouldn’t say anything about it when he comes huh? I bet he’ll be mad as heck!”

“Goku, Vegeta isn’t coming here,” King Kai said calmly.

“What? He isn’t?? Why not?” Goku said looking at him questioningly.

“He’s been sentenced to hell.”

“Hell?”

“Yes, Lord Enma has just sentenced him to eternity in hell,” King Kai said.

“But that’s not very fair. I mean sure Vegeta has done some bad things in the past, but he’s help save the world a few times. Shouldn’t those things count for something?”

“Don’t complain about this to me Goku, I don’t judge who goes where,” King Kai said.

Goku looked down thinking about it for a few moments. He then began to walk away. King Kai looked at him quizzically.

“Goku, where are you going?”

“I’m going to see Lord Enma,” Goku said.

“Goku! You can’t just go see him,” King Kai exclaimed.

“Sure I can! I know where he is!! I’ll be back later,” Goku said as he waved goodbye.

Goku walked out onto the Path of Snake. He stuck his hands in his pockets as he walked along quietly thinking to himself. He wondered what kind of enemy Vegeta had been fighting against and if the enemy was really that tough. He also wondered if Vegeta’s fighting skills had improved any since the last time they had talked; he was sure they probably had. No one could ever accuse Vegeta of slacking off when it came to training.
Goku walked along the Path of Snake for a little while until he finally got bored and decided to use his instant transmission technique. He placed his right index and middle finger to his forehead and concentrated. He focused his mind on Lord Enma’s ki energy and in seconds Goku dematerialized and materialized again in front of Lord Enma’s desk.
Lord Enma stared down at Goku and then sighed seeing his happy smiling face AGAIN.

“What are you doing here Goku? I thought we had a deal that you wouldn’t come bother me anymore while I’m working,” Lord Enma said as he submitted another ghost to their sentence.

“Sorry about this, but King Kai told me that Vegeta has just been sentenced to Hell,” Goku said.

“Yes that is correct.”

“Why?” Goku asked looking up at him.

“Goku, surely you know the things he has done. Vegeta has dismounted entire civilizations, killed countless amounts of beings, and spent his entire life for self gain. Plus he ruined my office a while back,” Lord Enma said looking down at Goku.

“It’s just not fair. I mean I understand why Vegeta should go to hell but shouldn’t he get some severance for the good things he’s done?”

“Name 3 good things Vegeta has done Goku,” Lord Enma said pausing to look at him.

“Um…well…he helped Gohan defeat Cell. He um…helped me defeat Majin Buu…and he helped me defeat Frieza’s brother Coola.” Goku said.

Lord Enma paused for a second and then sighed, “Well that still doesn’t make up for the evil he’s done. I’m sorry Goku; there is nothing I can do.”
