Two long years went by of severe fighting between Vegeta and the army. Vegeta’s perseverance was indescribable. He refused to admit defeat in the face of battle and every day EA watched him as he fought relentlessly even though there was no chance of victory in sight.
Eventually all the men of the X village were destroyed, and those that were not destroyed were too severely injured to fight. The bodies covered the ground that night. The cold wind swept over the icy hill. All was silent as the snow softly began falling to the ground sheltering the masses of dead bodies. The feeling of immense hopelessness filled the air.
His armor shattered, his clothes torn, blood silently dripping from his deep wounds Vegeta stood there panting tiredly as he watched the oxygen escaping his throat and calmly condensing with the crisp air.
“Vegeta-sama, surely you do not wish to pursue this journey further?” asked a voice as cold as the area around him.
Vegeta gripped his shoulder lightly and looked through his blood staining eyes to see the blurred image of general. He panted heavily, his body beaten by the elements and suffering from the 2 years of fighting. He stared at the general and his army, doing his best to stand straight in front of them.
The general narrowed his eyes, “How dare you. Look around you Vegeta… those that you have come to save have all been demolished. Give up this futile mission and admit defeat!”
Vegeta turned his head back slowly and looked at the ground behind him. He looked at the masses of men that had fallen victim to battle, the ground having been stained with their blood. Vegeta paused before turning back to look at his enemy. He lowered his head as a weak smile crossed his face.
The general looked at him suspiciously, “What are you smiling at?”
The general was beginning to tire of Vegeta’s cocky attitude towards him. He was in no position to fight anymore and if he did he would still perish and yet he was standing before him and his army and he was smiling.
Vegeta let out a quiet laugh as he raised his head to look at the general, “Someone once said…,”
“Yes?” the general looked at him questioningly.
“…even if you know it’s impossible…there are times when you must do it anyway…” Vegeta responded weakly with a smirk.
The general looked at Vegeta for a few seconds then with a yell; the army attacked him once more. Vegeta smiled and then powered up the best to his ability. The sky enlightened with a sharp cut of gold before going dark again… the war had ended.
Through the night the ground remained motionless as the army of the Centurian disappeared back to their camp. Quietly a body moved on the ground as EA pushed a dead soldier off of himself and pulled himself from the rubble. He stood up weakly, his helmet falling to the ground. EA stared out in disbelief at the site before him. He then noticed that not even Vegeta was standing this time. He quickly jumped from the bodies and landed several feet away trying not to land on the dead as well. He surveyed the area looking desperately for the Prince, finally finding his body lying motionless on the frozen ground.
EA approached the Prince quietly and leaned down gently resting a hand on his shoulder but feeling nothing but severe cold from the night. His eyes widened as he discovered that the Prince would no longer be waking up. EA tightly closed his eyes as a feeling of complete hopelessness covered him. He tightened his hands into fists as he sat there on his knees beside the dead Saiyan. In his intense swirl of emotion EA tightly closed his eyes, tears flooding down his face, he let out a scream of immense pain and agony. All was lost now…
