Chapter Three: Arrival

The craft arrived after what seemed like several days of traveling through stars. The ship landed and became secure before the two alien leaders and the Saiyan Prince stepped off.
As Vegeta stepped down onto solid ground he looked out at the land before him. It was very dry and desolate, almost like a desert wasteland; only colder. He felt the wind pierce through his shirt like needles. The crisp air made him feel alive and ready to take on this new challenge. Vegeta stared up at the sky to see nothing but darkness and some clouds passing by.
The aliens paused a little ways off and turned to see if he was following them. The elder looked at Vegeta passively and then looked at EA. He smiled to himself as if he had a great secret.

Turning to EA, the elder quietly spoke, “EA, take the Prince to see those wounded in battle. I am sure he should see the damages so he will know who he is up against.”

EA nodded and watched as the elder left to head back to the main house. He then walked over to Vegeta who seemed to have his head in the clouds and looked at him. Vegeta stopped from his day dreaming state to return the glance.

“Come. I have something to show you,” EA said.

“I do not need to see your casualties. They give me no information on this enemy. I would rather see him for myself. When is he coming?” Vegeta responded, dryly and slightly impatient.

EA looked at him rather shocked, not expecting Vegeta to already know what he was about to do, “They come tomorrow,” he said quietly.

Vegeta nodded and walked passed him. EA followed, catching up and walking beside him, “You are invited to stay with us in the main hous--.”

EA’s words trailed off as Vegeta paused to look at an old gate. It was opened as a long dirt path led out of the city. EA paused and watched as Vegeta began walking out of the city.

“Prince, where are you going?”

“They will be coming from over this hill right?” Vegeta said as he walked slowly towards the gate.

“Right, but…”

“Then I am going to meet them,” Vegeta responded.

EA watched as he headed out of the city and down the path. He grumbled to himself knowing that the elder had placed Vegeta in his care. He would expect to see him again tonight to address him of the issue. EA, realizing he was now playing babysitter, walked after Vegeta, quietly grumbling to himself in agitation.
EA followed Vegeta to the outskirts of the city; before them stood a large valley. Vegeta paused on the hillside looking down into the empty area. He had to admit for a pathetic planet it did have some good areas for intense training. EA came shortly after and stopped beside him.

“Prince, please, we have to go back now,” EA said passively.

“You go back. I do not take orders from you,” Vegeta said sharply as he crossed his arms.

“You can’t be serious. You mean you’re just going to stand here until they come?”

“Of course not,” Vegeta snapped.

EA sighed in frustration; taking care of the stubborn Prince was more than what he had bargained for. Vegeta did not move from his spot, and stood there for several minutes. After a long time of standing, EA realized the sun was going down.

“The sun is setting,” he said quietly shifting his eyes to see Vegeta’s reaction.

“How perceptive of you,” Vegeta said dryly not looking at him.

EA waited for a few more minutes before continuing, “Are you coming back with me?”

”I already told you no. What makes you think I’ve changed my mind?” Vegeta said casually.

EA let out a sigh of frustration and turned heading back towards the village. The village lights greeted EA as he returned alone. He walked down the main street admiring the scenery of his home before reaching the main house.
