Chapter Two: The Saiyan’s Mission

Vegeta looked out to the stars before him. It had been a while since he had been in space. He had almost forgotten the vastness of it. The two aliens stood behind him watching him cautiously as a mouse would a snake. The older one waited for a while before speaking softly to Vegeta.

“My Lord, perhaps you would like to know the situation before you go into battle?”

Without Vegeta’s response the alien continued to explain the situation. Vegeta, even though not looking at either of them, listened quietly. EA listened as well.

“We have been in alliance with both the Saiyan and the Centurian Race. For years we have supplied both your civilizations with the materials you require. Several years have past since we have heard from the Saiyans, and because of this we have been required to depend on the Centurians to provide us with the protection we needed from other alien life forces that would try to come and conquer our planet. We were providing the Centurians with crystals, a type of alloy that is crushed and ground up. It is used to fuel their vehicles and their space craft. We were able to provide for them for quite a while however it is with great sadness that we had to acquit. The Centurians were demanding more crystals with every visit and we did not have the time to supply them. Crystals of this magnitude take years until they are ready to be used. We are unable to produce them at the rate which they are being demanded by. Not able to supply them, the Centurian general, Asadeem has declared war upon us,” the older alien paused and looked over at Vegeta who had remained motionless the whole time.

The elder then continued, “We can thank you enough for helping us My Lord; it is a great honor--,”

His words were cut short as Vegeta suddenly responded, “Who said anything about helping you?”

EA and the elder both stared in shock. EA couldn’t believe what he was hearing. Did the Prince of the Saiyan race just say that he wasn’t going to help them? EA glared at Vegeta from behind. He wanted to hurt him so badly for eluding them to believe that he was going to assist them. Glaring at Vegeta, EA responded hotly, “What kind of person are you?! Lying to us to make us believe you are going to help and then turning your back on us!!”

“EA, that is enough,” the elder snapped.

“No it’s not. This guy is a joke! I can’t believe we even wasted our time trying to find him!!” EA yelled looking at the elder while pointing to Vegeta.

“Elder, control him,” Vegeta said calmly not moving from his position.

EA turned and looked at Vegeta, “Prince of the Saiyan race; HA! You’re nothing more than a big jerk.”

Vegeta suddenly turned and looked at EA. His unexpected reaction shocked the younger alien as he took a step back. Vegeta stepped down from his window view to approach him. The elder quickly moved in front of EA, bowing several times.

“Forgive him Prince, he is young and unwise.”

Vegeta ignored him and moved the elder aside until he was standing face to face with the young alien. EA looked at Vegeta only to be met with cold harsh eyes. He looked away quickly then paused and suddenly glared back.

“You think I’m a jerk, ne? Then why did you bother coming for me??” Vegeta responded.

Coldly EA replied, “We didn’t have a choice.”

Vegeta stared at him for a moment. EA was frozen stiff, scared to his wits about what was going to happen to him. He had heard the legend of the Saiyan race and he knew what they were capable of doing. Regardless of his future fate, EA remained grounded staring right back into the eyes that could possibly be his end.

“Why do you look at me face to face when everyone else I have seen so far has not?” Vegeta asked quietly.

“They all fear you for who you are,” EA said calmly.

“And you don’t?”

“No.”
