I have created two tattoo sets in the past, and much of the artwork from those past sets has made up the bulk of the designs I have used in the merchandise I have offered over the years. With this third set, I am now designing with a different philosophy and perspective in mind. First, these designs are supported by my experience as a tattoo artist, where before my designs lacked this important perspective. Also, here I am designing tattoo flash, not with an eye on residual marketability on merchandise. I may incoproate some of these designs into other designs for that purpose, but only after modifying the design to fit the product.

The 9 pieces to the left represent the 23 designs I have for the new set. The new set will be five pages, witrh the originals done in ink and water color. Once the set is complete, the images to the right will be replaced by an image of the set and offered for sale, hopefully by the end of the year.

I am definitely going for a more traditional feel with these new designs. I am also avoiding the "over-the-top" nature of my past designs; less nudity and controversial subject matter. This is not to suggest that I am shying away from that kind of art. I just recognize that such images are less marketable as tattoos. Instead, I am putting my own spin on "tried and true" designs.

I am also starting to get into a groove in the design process which I hope will lead to further sets in the future. I am more than happy to take commissions for tattoo designs; commissioned designs will not e incorporated into future tattoo flash sets. Designs need not be limited to tattoo flash. I will also be working on tattoo wall art and will take commissions for this as well. If interested, please email me at sorrellart@hotmail.com.

The images to the right are on this page mainly just for historical value. They represent the 44-50 images from the second flash set, now out of print. One tattoo artist I respect greatly described this set as "collector's flash", meaning that the tattoos themselves were unlikely to be selected by patrons but that tattoo artists would want the sheets as artwork. From this flash set comes the majority of the graphic designs I have marketted on t-shirts, stickers, and other items.

I will be keeping some of these images as graphics for items I sell through my shop: Creative Oddities Studios on Cafe Press. The majority of the images and merchandise will be phased out beginning January 2010 as new, item specific designs are created. I may recycle some of these designs into the new designs, but the majority of the designs will cease to be available to the public.

I appreciate all the support and kudos I have recieved for my designs over the years, and hope that you continue to enjoy the new designs in the future.
