Oy, I didn't want to rewrite this page, but the other one just didn't fit anymore!

My Beliefs

First of all, I am an initiated 1st Degree Witch. I do not consider myself Wiccan. There is a big reason why. Most people who are interested in "Wicca" think that by reading a few books, and doing some sort of "self-initiation" they are craft. Ok that's fine. I'm sure there are a lot of nice, decent people out there who have done just that. But they aren't part of a longstanding tradition, and all their information comes from something they've read, not actually experienced. What you get out of the Craft is what you put in. And often, to get the most out of anything you have to do more than read a few books. Witchcraft is about a life change. You change your perspective, you change yourself, you change the world around you.

Now I don't mean to come off sounding snobby, because I'm sure there are some really strong Wiccans who have never been through an initiation, and aren't part of a coven. But there are also a lot of "wannabes" - people for whom this may be a lifestyle, but only as long as the interest holds out.

I was initiated into a long-standing coven, part of a traditional line in late 2000. I had been studying with them for 3 years at that point. Why so long? Because that is what is required. Being a witch takes commitment, it takes dedication, it takes a lot of hard work.

So that's where I am. I've been an initiate for just over 2 years, I currently teach the Young Adults class and have 4 students that are between 13-15. I am also assisting the High Priest by typing some things that will end up in the First Degree book, and I am being trained as a Hand Maiden.

Enough of that. Here are some basics for you:

There are Seven tenets: Learning, Tolerance, Harmony, Humilty, Perfect Love, Perfect Trust and Balance. All of life's lessons can be found here. If there is a problem in your life, look to these for your answer.

There is a balance in everything in nature. For every day there is night, for life there is death and rebirth. For the God, there is the Goddess. Nature tries to preserve its balance, but man has interfered in so much that balance is harder and harder to find.

What my mother called the Golden Rule, what Jesus taught as his Second Commandment, what we call the Wiccan Rede: What you send out returns to thee, baneful or blessing it returns times three. The lesson here is the same "Do Unto Others", "What you sew, so shall you reap" "Love thy neighbor".

It's bad karma to steal my penty
