The I in Me

Ayn Rand described art as "a selective recreation of reality." She believed that art role was not to capture the worst and lowest of the every day, but to capture the essence of "what could and should be" tomorrow. The artwork exhibited here is not done by an absynthe user or cocaine addict, it is done with the trained hand, the selective eye, and the rational mind. In enjoying an artist's work, that is what we are paying homage to. Not the random, the inexplicable, or the supernatural, but what is truly great about man: his reasoning mind.

"Just the Beginning", "A New Height", and "How Far We've Come" are all done by my favorite artist, Bryan Larsen.

"Ascent of Man", "Tomorrow Today", and "Beginnings" are all by Sylvia Bokor. "Tomorrow Today" being my most favorite piece of art in existence.

The last two, "Lunch Break" and "Molly's Swing", are both commissions by Quent Cordair.
