Hiang The', (grandson of Ie Chang Ming) born in Bandung Indonesia in 1948, began his training when he was the age of 8. He trained with the 5 highest ranking Masters of Chung Yen Shaolin for several years. The four primary Masters that he studied with were his Grandfather, Grandmaster Ie Chang Ming, as well as Master Liu Su Peng, Master Je Shao(Jou) Fu and Master Qui Kwong. Arriving in the United States 1968, Master Hiang The' began teaching. As a 10th degree Black belt, he is the Grandmaster of the Chung Yen (or Central) Shaolin style of kung fu. Grandmaster The' has taught classes
all over the state of Kentucky, as well as in other states, for over 40 years, basing his teachings in Lexington. Master The' attended the University of Kentucky, earning a degree in civil engineering.
