Meeting called to order by Doug Overes at 7:15pm

President’s Report:

Introduction of host establishment-Fire and Ice Taps

 

Conference in June, Doug still planning to attend, unfortunately Debbie cannot due to new business venture.

 

Doug has been in contact with Larry from Larry’s Bison.  They have been arranging a charity event this summer for beans, beer, and bison.  Looking at supporting MADD as a charity and possible July for the date.  Anyone interested in offering time, please contact Doug.

 

As of the end of May, we will have a new website address-www.southernalbertachefs.ca

Thanks to the webmaster Karl for all his work and support on this change over.

 

We have supporters for the website when up and running.  They are Larry’s Bison, Chef hats and Lets Pasta.

 

Fundraiser for Culinary Team Alberta this weekend in Edmonton, Evening of the Masters.

 

Culinary Careers meeting reminder for May 2, 2005.

 

Mailbox renewal was all for mail.

Treasurer’s Report:          

Due to not getting all dues in on time, we have lost our vote in the conference in June.

 

There may be a cost increase in knives we purchase to sell to students.

 

 

 

 

Education Director’s Report:         

Jen is the Knorr apprentice candidate and is practicing hard with chef Allan.  Good luck to her.

 

Last weekend chef Parker and chef Allan attended Northwest Regional Culinary Challenge in Edmonton and won gold medals.  Great opportunity for the students to communicate.

 

Chef Parker and chef Allan went to the meeting for the upcoming conference and were told a few highlights.  One of them being Mike Noble will be doing a live demo for us.

 

Chef Parker went to Washington to the Canadian Embassy that just opened an Alberta trade and Info center.  Chef Parker aided in the promotion of Alberta Beef and produce.

           

Motion made by Chef Parker to have association pay for drinks.  Second by Doug.  All in favour.
