Call to order at 715pm by Chef Doug

President’s Report:

There has been an amendment to the 2003-2004 agenda for April 5/04.  Sisco is going to be taking part in the New product information seminar.

 

As well, there has been a switch of the February 6th and February 13th days.

 

The date for the National Conference in PEI has been slated for June 8-12.

 

The western region conference is being held in Victoria in February.

 

We have been sent the BC chefs association membership directory, see Chef Debbie Clauss if anyone is interested in looking at it.

 

Two new members were voted in, Melissa Nalder and Amber Clay,
Welcome to the Assciation.

 

Just to mention the new journeyman ceritificates mailed to all members with the new logo and names.

 

Culinary team Alberta is going strong and starting fund raising, Melissa and Amber were selected to accompany Chef Doug, Congratulations girls.

 

Executive meeting scheduled for March 12/2004 at 7pm at the LCC garden court.  Meeting will include discussion on bylaws and ethics.

 

We as an association have been asked to fundraise for the Lethbridge lodge 3 day cheese and wine festival.  Need more information, will be discussed at a later date.

 

Vice President’s Report:      

Kraft Canada travelling chef, 5 per region, anyone interested contact Chef Doug.

 

May golf tournament has been rescheduled for May 19/04, weather permitting.

 

On holidays from May 1 to 15/2004.  Good luck Joe.

 

 

Secretary’s Report:  

New pamphlets from CCF

 

 

Anyone interested in reading any mail received from other associations please feel free to contact Debbie Clauss.

 

We have a new national site and its new forms at http:/www.ccfcc.ca

 

Treasurer’s Report: 

2004 dues and invoices will be sent to the secretary and distributed with the next mailout for the next meeting.

 

Our local finance picture looks good.

 

Our association has promised a $250.00 donation to the National office and a plaque to LCC as well as a knife set.  At the executive meeting we will be discussing the possibility of giving an award to the apprentices.

 

Education Director’s Report:           

LCC has agreed to give a substantial donation to team Alberta.

 

Chef Parker is the team leader for student team Alberta, and again Melissa and Amber were selected to accompany Chef Doug.

 

Skills Canada has put some changes into effect and Amber Clay may possibly try out.  Good luck Amber!!

 

CCF/Knorr junior competition is February 16 and 17.  Travis Burndred and Cameron Picyk will be competing.  Good luck to you both.

 

Old News:      

Chef Doug put forth motion to look into Chef Hats Inc.  All in attendance in favor of checking into quality and price of garments.  Next meeting we will discuss further.
