Of the S.A.A.C meeting
Held on 8th September, 2003

 

In Attendance:

Joe Henke, Debbie Clauss, Doug Overes, Heng Ng, Charles Parker, Chef Mark, Colin Dennis,Cef Allan, and Jeremy Kurtz

 

Meeting called to order by Doug Overes at 7:10pm
Seconded by Chef Allan

 

President’s Report:

All in attendance approved sending out letter to new recruits for the CCF Lethbridge Branch

 

Discussion about new national name.  Good idea, better balance with rest of associations, trying to modernize, and mostly bringing in a wider variety of people.  Our new name: CCF Lethbridge Branch.  There will need to be a meeting of executive to change the bylaws and ethics, to be announced at a later date.

 

All in attendance approved a small honorarium for Karl Clauss, OUR WEB MASTER, for all his work in creating and maintaining the website.

 

The next national gathering will be in PEI in 2004 around the end of May..

 

Anyone interested in lending a hand for the evening of the Masters please contact Doug Overeas.  There is one is the fll in Calgary and one in the spring in Edmonton.

Vice President’s Report:          

We are having trouble setting a venue for the Presidents Dinner and Dance. Stay tuned for more information.

Treasurer’s Report:           

Our financial picture looks good.

 

National financial picture looking good as well.  We are making a slow comeback..

 

Discussion as to national membership dues ($137.00 for existing members, and $139.10 for new members). Local members $41.40.

 Just a reminder that $2.00 per active member is paid to the National office for CCI scholorship.

Education Director’s Report:          

There may be changes the Certificate and diploma programs, they may be combined.  Too make it easier for the students and less expensive.

 

The skills Canada competition was won by our own Amber Clay.  She went on to compete in Waterloo and came in 2nd.

 

Old News:      

We are on the hunt for new members. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

 

 

 The 50/50 draw was won by Doug Overeas.
