Of the S.A.A.C meeting
Held on 2nd December, 2002

 

In Attendance:

Meeting called to order by Doug Overes at 7:15pm

President’s Report:

Reminder about fun skate on December 21, 2002.  See Yearly agenda for more information.

 

The Luxembourg competition was a great success. Team Alberta received the Culinary World Cup and I received a gold medal.

 

The current executive will stand for the next two years because no objections have been entered.

 

We are waiting for approval from National office to have our website linked to theirs.

 

Team Alberta will take a break for about 2 months and then start their fundraising in April.

 

There will be no 50/50 draw this evening as not enough people in attendance.

 

There is a competition in Edmonton in the new year, Anyone interested please contact Doug for more information.

 

Hyatt Hotel chain is looking for chefs across Canada and the United States.  Please contact Doug for more information.

Vice President’s Report:      

Tickets for the Presidents dinner and dance (March 28, 2003) will be$75.00 again this year.  We have asked the Chevelles to be the entertainment and the Child Find is the Charity we will support.  The location of the event will be set soon.

 

Flames games ticket sales are going well.  Anyone wanting to go, get signed up soon.

 

Secretary’s Report:      

Anyone interested in any mail we receive, please feel free to contact me at Chef_Debbie@Telusplanet.net.

 

 Anyone interested in having a recipe put on the website please contact me.

   

Treasurer’s Report:      

2002/2003 dues need to be paid.  Rob will be getting in touch with those who have not paid.

 

 Knife sales are going good this year.  All sets have been sold so a new batch will be ordered for the new year.

 

Education Director’s Report:      

The next Culinary Salon will be in February for college students.

 

Chef Parker has been asked to be a judge for the Skills Canada in May.

 

The Wine Festival  on Friday, November 15th, 2002 was the best ever. 

Old News:  

Western Conference in Edmonton in the spring, trying to get a group of us to go up.  More information to come.

Crystal Garden Ice Carving January 31 to February2, 2003.  Anyone interested please contact Debbie for more information.
