Meeting called to order by Doug Overes at 7:10pm

President’s Report: Announced that Debbie Clauss was named Apprentice of the year Ending 2001 by the Alberta Apprenticeship Board.

A reminder that the Flames road trip is coming soon, February 28, 2002; tickets for members $40, get them soon.  Only 40 seats available, bus leaves at 4:00pm sharp.

Doug Overes has been given the chance to participate for a position on Team Alberta which goes to Luxenburg in November. We will be notified when we can look at the plates that he has prepared. Good luck to you Doug.

Doug Overes regrets to inform us of his postponement of  CCC.

National Financial apology for Joe Henke; membership not processed in a timely fashion.

Our HOST for the evening was “Well Done”, the Cavemans Cove. Thank-you for your hospitality, everything was great.  A special thanks to Michael Lee for speaking with us and entertaining all our questions.

 
Vice President’s Report:

Tickets for the Presidents dinner and dance (March 22, 2002) are now available for $75.00; contact Doug Overes, Natasha Ghostkeeper, or Joe Henke.

Secretary’s Report: Anyone interested in any mail we receive, please feel free to contact me at Debbie_Clauss@canada.com.
 
Treasurer’s Report: Decision made so Doug Overes and Joe Henke have signing authority at the bank.
1999/2000 and 2000/2001 statements all okay when audited.
Discussion as to national membership dues ($137.00 for existing members, and $139.10 for new members). Local members $41.40, and Rob Sonnenberg made a proposal that all new member dues be waived, 2nd by Doug Overes.
 
Education Director’s Report:

Charles mentioned that the proposed baking apprenticeship has a meeting coming Monday to discuss possible start in the fall of 2002.

Also mentioned was the new Hotel & Restaurant Management course running currently; classes are going really well so far.
 
Old News: Allen has been trying to recruit new members; looks good so far.
The Cake and Confection Show in may in Surrey, and questions please see Doug Overes.
