There's a new race by Talamatross in the Race section, the Rothaj.  This race also includes some concept art!. There's also another concept art picture placed in the Images section, a drawing of the "Rook", a unit idea from the forums.

 

WarCraft III Beta!!!

I got a WarCraft III Beta CD-Rom this monday, but I could only install and play it today.  The installation went without problems, and after 10 minutes I was connected to battle.net already.  The game is fun and interesting, but very different from StarCraft!  It's an RPS (Role Playing Strategy) game and not an RTS (Real Time Strategy) game, and if you've played nothing but Brood War before, you really need to get used to it.  But the more I play it, the more I like it! Finally the WarCraft III section of this site is filled, with "exclusive" screenshots I took while playing, and links to some of the most interesting parts of other WarCraft III sites.

Do you remember the Race of the Month issues from Siege Tank VI on the old sclegacy forums?  When the sclegacy forums moved to blizzforums, all the races were lost, but Siege Tank VI was so good to dig them up and send them to us!  Three issues are now placed on the Races page, and more should follow later.

Bill Roper's StarCraft II Confirmation denied	posted by Hybrid on 2002-2-7
A rumor was saying Bill Roper promised Blizzard will make StarCraft II some time, which he would have said in an interview with the Korean magazine GameShot.  However, Blizzard recently stated they still haven't confirmed StarCraft II. So to make it clear: Blizzard still hasn't announced any plans for StarCraft II, and the confirmation in the GameShot interview is false.

StarCraft patch 1.09 Is coming!

Shlonglor announced StarCraft patch 1.09 on the Battle.net forums, here's what's new: - Fixed various replay issues. - Fixed a bug where Protoss and Terran victory and defeat background screens did not display. - Siege tanks no longer explode when placed on a beacon. - Added LAN play via UDP. - Fixed latency issue with Windows 2000. - Added template type, CompUSA.  http://gamefixx.compusa.com/tournament/default.asp   Heh, I think I posted this before Blizzard put it in their news :)

In the section "StarCraft History" inder History, the first part of a summary of the complete story of StarCraft is posted.  Also a new race idea, the Sareer, is added under Races.

In the section "Interviews" under Info, some interviews are posted.  One of them is an interview where Bill Roper sais Blizzard 'will' make a Starcraft2 later, but this may be due to a poor translation from Korean into English.

The forums are upgraded to phpBB2.  There were some trouble, all dates and polls are lost, but for the rest it works fine now.  You don't have to register again, all old accounts still work.  Just take a look to find out what's new. But we're not the only ones to have a new forum.  You can also Beta-test the new battle.net forums here.

In the section "Races" under Ideas, a first StarCraft II Race Idea is posted, featuring the "Ajidica" by Talamatross.  More race ideas are on the forum and will appear here later.

In the section "StarCraft Beta" under History, an article about the development of StarCraft is posted.  The development started in 1996 already, and not everything went as planned... There are also a lot of screenshots from the alpha versions, and these look very different from the final product.

In the section "Rumors" under Info, I placed a list of some rumors that appeared on forums or were emailed to me, and also some very classic rumors that are surviving for years already.  These rumors are put there just for fun, because they are FAKE!  It may be interesting to read them, but remember that they aren't true. Experimental new scii.org site

Today I put an experimental version of a new look for the scii.org site online, but without the actual design and without the php code.  These will be uploaded soon so maybe this site will even look good in the near future.  Also, more content and articles are on their way.  All links on the left will eventually be filled. What you now find here is not all completed yet, but we're working on it and we're planning to do a big reopening when it's all done.  This should be somewhere in February.
