Meet the Team...
Rev Mandy Cuthbertson, Assistant
Director of Training introduces
herself...
It was a great privilege to be invited to be part of the Pastoral
Assistants Training Team, helping and encouraging others to train
for a specific ministry within the Church.
I trained for ordination on the East Anglican
Ministerial Training Course, Peterborough Project. A pioneering
course of ministerial training that combined theological study
and reflection and pastoral practice with practical application
through two ten-month placements in churches of contrasting traditions.
In some ways it was not unlike the PA training course, for it
allowed me to be 'doing theology' as I trained. I am at present,
the Assistant Curate at St Benedict's Church in Northampton.
I am married to Doug, who is retired and spends much of his time
tending a beautiful garden. We have three children and seven grandchildren.
I enjoy music and play the pipe organ and piano, which as you
can imagine, does come in very useful in church life!
My role on the PA training team is to assist Michael Pettit, the
Director of Training and to act as a link person with the first
year PA's on the Common Ground course and the rest of the training
team, which will help to ensure that all PA's have the support
they need throughout their two years of training. I look forward
to working and learning with you all and to seeing you well prepared
for this vital ministry in today's church.
Yours in Christ, Mandy Cuthbertson.
