Middle-earth

Lothlorien
Alright, so I don't really know much about elves, but I do adore them! They are a beautiful race that loves all living things, and the folks are always cheerful. They scarcely have worries, for they are virtually eternal, or at least compared to Men and all other races. Very few have ever witnessed the death of an elf. Elves bear bows and arrows as their main weapon, for they do not relish the sight of their dying foes.
Lothlorien is the realm of Lord Celeborn and Lady Galadriel before they passed over the sea. Also, Queen Arwen spent most of her millenia in this dazzling land. This forest is where Arwen had her fate decided. When she saw Aragorn so noble, she knew that she would stay with him.

Legolas is not from this land; he is from Mirkwood, where the elves of shadow live.

Now, my Elven name is Belsirithil, which means "moving, flowing moonlight." However, my actual birth name in Elvish, has three versions I'll show you:
**Thaurlonniel
Thaurlonnien
Thaurlonnwen
The one with the stars is my chosen name, but that is without the middle name. The originating name is Thaurlonn. With my full name, it is Hallasereg. However, the more feminine versions are:
**Hallaseregiel
Hallaseregien
Hallaseregwen
Of these, I choose Hallaseregiel.
My brother's name in Elven can be:
Palangon
Palangonion
Quellequárë (full name)
Quellequárëion (full name)
Now, my brother is also the designer of Elenia, so I must give him a little credit...
I also have a friend with a nice Elven name, Aralanthiriel, which means "shining waterfalls of echoing voices." Isn't it a beautiful language?

Gondor
Gondor is where the throne of Aragorn lies. 'Tis where the king wed his bride, Arwen. The true battle that decided the fate of Middle-earth was borne upon the plains there. Gondor is almost like England in modern earth. It has always been run by men, and it is the last thread of Elven blood in Middle-earth.

That's all I've got for now, but I'll update soon... Middle-earth, however, has more mysteries than I can show you.

The Shire
As is well known around here, Frodo, Bilbo, and most of the hobbits in the novel are from here. Frodo was adopted by Bilbo at Bag End, where Bilbo had lived for all of his life until he left on his 128th birthday. Frodo, however, is actually from Brandybuck.
This is where much of the history and tales of the Red Book doth lie. Men, corrupted by Saruman, once tried to end the peace in The Shire, but they failed for all of the bravery of hobbits with good leaders on top.
The ring rested in The Shire for many a year unnoticed, but it was eventually known to Sauron by torture of Gollum (Sméagol).

Mordor
Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky,
Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone,
Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die,
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie.
One Ring to rule them all, One Rings to find them,
One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them
In the Land of Mordor where the shadows lie.

That is the most important poem in all of Tolkien's Lord of the Rings series.
Mordor was the dark realm of Sauron, the creator of the evil Ring. He sought to have all of Middle-earth to himself, to extend to his realm to the edge of each coast, at the least.

Now that is enticing, to see it truly, to see it before you and within your grasp. Take it like Sméagol did, and become the victim of Sauron's work! He forged the Ring at Mount Doom, or Mondolluin.

The Barrow Downs
This is a hilly land of many "barrow wights" that horde much indeed. It lies between the Old Forest and Bree. It is also the place where Tom Bombadil came to the aid of the hobbits when they were captured. Frodo chanted the words and called for him.
