Since I didn't have a page set aside for photos of Witchy things, I decided to do so, and that is where you are now. Good for you. Mostly I did this because I can't put so many of them on the Temple page. And here they are.

The outdoor shrine near Simbi's gardenThe shrine near Simbi's garden. We made if from a paving slab, some bricks, some stones, and a bit of wood. The offerings in this picture are some lemon balm (which never stayed in the altar) and some oregano, and I think perhaps a bit of hyssop. All but the lemon balm is left when we visit it! I think that the Gods like lemon balm a LOT.

My shrineMy personal shrine which is in the West of my room. That's the reason I put a blue cloth on it (or at least, that's what I'll tell people) but actually it's because I HAD a blue cloth. Every morning, I light the candles (if I have the privacy and time to do so), welcome the God, Goddess, and Spirit, thank them for the day, and ask them for anything I would like. I then dab my Third Eye with the water and with a bit of Sacred Oil, light a stick of incense, put out the candles, and say farewell to the God, Goddess, and Spirit, then put out the candles (if I lit them). If I have the privacy (meaning, if no-one is home but me), I will take the bowl of water outside and pour it over the paving slab where I have become accustomed to making offerings and leaving spell components. Eventually I will use that slab as the floor for an outdoor shrine...

My Samhain altarMy altar at Samhain 2002. The huge amount of candles around the cauldron represents the God, Goddess, and Divine Child in the womb of the Goddess. It was REALLY hard finding enough candleholders around the house to put them in...next time I will have GOOD candleholders that aren't made of pressed glass and shaped like hearts...grr.

My altar at LughnassadhThis is my altar for Lughnassadh 2003. It's really annoying trying to do anythign detailed and complex with an altar that's half of your dresser, said dresser being the only flat surface in your room. Even so, it looked just wonderful. That large white...thing...is a slice of homemade bread (courtesy of my grandmother who only makes bread when we're in Greenspond, damn it all) with a bite taken out of it. Um....yeah. Lammas was rather dull, now that I think of it.

A little shrine on the rocksThis is a lil shrine type thing I made on a big rock on a sort of beach in Greenspond. I would burn some incense or put a coin there or a handful of berries every time I went by it. It started out as just...making something, to see if it will be there next year (I'll find out next year :P ) and I decided it would make a nice shrine. That little pile of rocks on the right has a snail shell inside it. There's a boen on it somewhere, too, but I think I added that after I took the picture.

An inukshukThis is an inukshuk that was, so I hear, built by some Inuit who visited Greenspond. It just appeared between one day and the next, as I walked around down back of the island a LOT and never saw it until it, well, appeared, next to a bench. It's smaller than it looks, about waist-high, and it's very interesting. People added small stones and things to it. I sure did - I'd place a shell or pebble there every time I passed it, and usually a handful of berries as well. There are a LOT of berries growing on Greenspond. If someone knocks it down I will be REALLY annoyed as I think it's one of the coolest things on Greenspond. "Now the people will know we were here", yes, but now there's a place to make offerings as well to the spirit of the area. It's so nice to walk around the island and make offerings at all the little places. There's a little cairn farther down the path that I think the Inuit made, too, and I put offerings there as well. Why? Because I can.

An inukshuk I madeThis is a little inukshuk I made after seeing the large one above. It's about six inches tall. The white things on either side of it are sea urchin shells that were put there by two of my cousins a while after I made it- they didn't know it was me - and after I took this picture I walked past and saw that it'd been knocked over, so I rebuilt it. Again, I would leave offerings here - shells, pretty stones, and, of course, berries - blackberries and partridgeberries, and blueberries when they came along.

Tidal shrineHere is a little shrine thing I made near the one on the rock (see above). It gets covered by water every day, and I left some dimes on it. I wonder if they'll still be there next year? Only time will tell. At any rate, again, I made lots of offerings here.
