Hey Guys-
I come bearing some personal bad news. This seems a good place for that this year- good and bad.
Last night around midnight Richard Veazey died from a massive heart attack. Dick is the father of Sean Veazey. I am sure you all remember him- my little sister's old boyfriend/ my boy scout buddy. His family and mine were very close. That is how Sean came to hang out with us. If you look through the albums you'll see him. Whenever he or I are in town we both always hang out with you guys. Shit- I think he has made more X-mas parties than I have these past few years.
The man needs our support and so do I. Dick was like a father to my little sister and I. Every major holiday in Memphis with Lillian was spent in his home with his family.
I am hoping to fly into town this Friday or Saturday. The funeral is Tuesday. If anyone would care to attend or maybe arrange a little get-together for Sean with us so he can pound a few in his honor- it would be nice.

I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Please accept my most heartfelt condolences. I know this is not any easy time and my thoughts are with you and your family.

Shit! And I didn't think this year could get much worse. I would love to be there to give my condolences in person, but I'm stuck up here for now. Let me know when you guys are planning to get together so I can give you guys a call so I can be there in a little bit more than spirit.

still working on the conversion to the new posting system, should be up soon but until then, we're still stuck with Blogger.
anyway, it's getting about the time of year to once again make plans for the Christmas party.

Bad news for me, I'm not going to make it back during either of the holidays. I started working so late in the year, and just found out that just about everyone else has already asked off for the holidays. I didn' have a chance. They were asking off at the begining of the year. I've already asked off for next year, but will try and come down sometime this winter since I'll have PTO to burn. Have an extra round for me in my absence.
That's to bad Mark, I was really looking forward to hanging out with you. So what about the rest of you out-of-towners? everyone planning on being here?

Ok here's something sooner. On November 6th they're going to implode the old Baptist hospital on Union. It's the biggest implosion in the country this year. It's early in the morning, but should be worth the boom.... anyone want a morning of coffee/donuts/explosions?

Of course once I move out of town, all the cool things happen. I would have loved to see that, but of course still stuck in a day job, a part time job and classes that keep me up here. But at least I'm making more than I did at Blockbuster even when I was a manager :)

What time in the morning is the building being blown up? I'd like to watch that. In other news, withing the next week or two we should have the x-mas plans layed down. Looks like the banquet will happen before the 25th and maybe something special to go down on New Years eve. I will update soon.

Man, I hadn't checked the site in a few weeks so we missed the chance to get together and watch the implosion. Rick and I went by ourselves and it was a phenomenal, once in a lifetime spectacle. It raised the hair on the back on my neck!

hey all, just a quick update.
i'm going to be making a few small changes to the site over the next couple of days, most notably, i've developed a new blogging system that we will be able to access via the members section instead of going to Blogger.
i have to get back to work right now, but keep an eye out for the new changes and, hopefully, much better functionality!

LOL, no it's to show that it means more to me than most people's tat's. It's not just something I picked out or made up because I felt like it. It's something like the old army buddies get, but without all the idiots, killing, skulls, or lame excuse for knowing each other. It's about lifelong friendship, and that's pretty rare from what I see.

Greetings again from sunny and cool Long Beach. Home of yours truly.
I thought I should post because both MARK and DANNY have posted since I hade last- and we are supposed to be using this more often- I think.
SOOooooo....
I am still living with my girlfriend, Jenna. Things are very good most of the time-We both work and she attends Cal-Satan Fullerton. She is a child psychology major who wants to go out and run test on human lab rats to look for causality in our behaviors-and get paid. Serious shit. She loves it. (notice the satan?)
Speaking of love- I am madly in love with this woman in case any of you don't know.

Yes she is another Jennifer-BUT she is a JENNA- never been a JennY and she is certainly not my ex-wife! Very important distinction. Jenna bring us nothing but happiness and self-gratification. Name your favorite Jenna. I bet I've seen that film too.

We knew each other over 5 months before we even went on a date. I didn't even make a pass on her that night.

We did move in after 6 months. We honestly would have wanted to wait a bit longer- but if you knew anything about my roommate situation you would comprehend the urgency. Well this is 11 months of knowing each other first.

She is coming home for X-Mas hopefully! I want you all to meet her. You'll love her.
She drinks with the best of them! Plays a mean Blackjack (ask about the money we made). Knows cars and drives like a bat out of hell. She has a Thad-esque quality of driving. Driving really fast and accurately in a small car. Funny thing also she is a good shot at the arcade on gun games and rocks some pinball. Airhockey anyone?

She's Italian/Russian Jew baby. J.P. will love her- but goes to Hell after any unclean thoughts. Fortuantely she's not a Catholic or a Bible thumper. She has this Roman-Greco thing going on with her face and hair. She reminds of old art of beatiful darkhaired Roman women. Lots of curls.

She is from the Southern California area and went to High School in Washington. Her Mom lives pretty close to Super-double-Secret Sailor 2nd Class Jim.
Speaking of which Jim is a reference. He met her. We drank. We saw Star Wars in Hollywood!

No, it's true. I've seen her, she's got frizzy hair, a shifty look in her eyes, and one hand inside the coat pocket (reaching for something maybe?) Anyways, she's rad...so there. Too bad I won't see her, since I won't be able to get off them (everyone asked off even before I started working there, so not even a chance). I will try and come out, since I have never been there, and my brother was there and loved it.

Party At My Place!!!
I'm going to host a shindig at my place on Saturday, October 8th. (NOT THIS SATURDAY, NEXT SATURDAY)
It probably wont be a huge event, just some homemade chili and beer to welcome the cooler months. I'll fill the fridge with some beer and we'll make an evening of it.
Just a general warning to all who wish to attend, Piperton has police now. You don't want to speed in my town anymore. Also, make sure you either pack a pillow or some gum, if you catch what I'm throwin. I'll have places for folks to sleep if you don't feel comfortable driving home.
The rundown:
What: Social gathering with chili and beer
