This Wizard of Oz show is fantastic. It has great lines for every character.
Supporting actors play many roles with spotlight scenes and funny lines.
Lots of action scenes such as the Tornado, Witch attacking Munchkinland, Flying Monkey attack, Winky Guard Ambush, Witch's Castle, and the runaway hot air balloon.

Leads: Dorothy, Miss Gully/Witch, Vacuum Salesman/Wizard, Toto-real dog, Tin Man, Scarecrow, Lion
Supporting Roles:
-Aunt Em, Uncle Henry, Glinda / other roles
-Munchkins/Flying Monkeys/Devil Dogs/Tornado Effects
-Emerald Citizens/ Forest Monsters/ Talking Trees/ Tornado Dancers or Gymnasts/ Winky Guards

AUDITIONS
Saturday, June 23 at 11am,
and Tuesday, June 26 at 7pm,
for casting.
Final Audition Saturday, July 7 at 11am, fills remaining roles.

Seeking singing and non-singing actors age 5 through adult; younger actors may need an older family member in the cast, crew or backstage.
Every role has good lines and action.
Supporting actors have lots of character parts.


PERFORMANCES
Fridays and Saturdays, Aug. 3 &4, 10 & 11, 24 & 25, 2018.
(Yes, we are skipping the third weekend).
If you cannot do all the performances, we can double cast your role and you will do half the shows.
Showtime: 7pm. Doors open at 6:30pm.
Show is 2 hours with a 10 minute intermission.
Actors get a discount but no free tickets. Ticket sales fund this production. Actors may earn money by selling tickets.

LOCATION: TekVenture Stage, 1550 Griffin St., Fort Wayne.

REHEARSALS & STAGECRAFT
July 9 to August 3, Mon-Fri,
9am to 1pm, but Rehearsal Time is 10am to noon.
-- 9am, Morning snack, theater preparation
-- 10am, Rehearsal of certain scenes plus theatrical work
-- Noon, Lunch & skill building play
You are only required to come to the rehearsal period,10am to noon, on days your scenes are scheduled.
Actors may come every day, any of the hours, if you like, but if it is not your scene day, actors will be expected to do theater work.
We can arrange a few evening rehearsals for teen and adult actors who work day jobs.
Actors must behave and follow direction or a parent will be required to attend.


REQUIREMENTS
--Actors are required to JOIN TekVenture for 2 months for insurance coverage.
A two month online student membership is $20 x 2 = $40. Paid separately totals $50.
You may instead choose a Family membership, online is $45 x 2 = $90. Paid separately = $100.
A membership authorizes you to use any equipment in the building once you have been taught how. Kids age 16 and under must be supervised by a parent, but the parent must be a member to touch the equipment and tools. TekVenture has workshops in wood, metal, sewing, electronics, pottery, blacksmithing, welding, 3D printing and computer aided design.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
-- Each parent must put in 12 volunteer hours or some equivalent contribution.
-- Actors can bring a sack lunch, or send food for sharing meals.
-- Besides the TekVenture membership and the volunteer hours, there is no charge. This is not a camp or child care. This is rehearsals with the option to come even when your scene is not scheduled. Your child must behave and follow instructions and not do risky things or you will need to attend rehearsals and performances to supervise.
