HCG Lepori is a natural protein secreted by the human placenta and purified from the urine of pregnant women.  The benefit for male athletes is that it matches the male Luteinizing Hormone (LH) almost exactly, hence stimulating an increase in endogenous testosterone production.  HCG Lepori can have several applications.  Firstly, HCG Lepori is used within a steroid cycle to maintain natural endogenous testosterone production - a high dosage, long term use of steroids can depress signals from the hypothalamus to the testicles and result in Gynocomastia. Using HCG for a 2 week course in the middle of a steroid cycle should prevent this problem.   Secondly, HCG Lepori is used at the end of a steroid cycle when endogenous testosterone levels are usually subnormal.  So as to maintain testosterone levels post-cycle, a continuous 2 week course should be sufficient.  Thirdly, HCG Lepori can be used as a steroid the same way as, for example, Testosterone is used.  HCG is widely used by athletes who want a boost in their testosterone production, for strength gain or muscle building purposes.

HCG Lepori raises serum testosterone levels quickly.  The first peak is reached approximately 2 hours after injecting HCG, then followed by another peak 2-4 days later.  A dose of between 1000I.U. to 2000I.U. per week is recommended (either in one single shot or split up into 2 or 3 doses throughout the week) with cycles of 2-3 weeks on, 5 weeks off.  HCG raises estrogen levels and so an anti-estrogen is advised as concurrent therapy.
