**History of the Mutant**
satyagraha
hi, you clever old yank! you've found my "about me" page. yeah, you probably won't read much farther than this because who cares, right? so, basically, i could write anything here. like that i think the censoring of music is an absolutely oppressive measure imposed on us by our own government? or how i think that the white subarban soccermoms and corporate white males are dominating an industry which, like all art, is somewhat crap, but, like all art, is just that: art--the freedom of expression. and it's being stripped away from us tiny bit by tiny bit.  when ideas like affirmative action are spit at by these people, it gives those same people more power, and takes it away from those of us who think deeper than "curse words are bad-- the children must be protected". those same children really need to be protected from the people who are taking the open-mindedness away from our society. from thinking like "there's nothing we can do about the energy crisis, so we're just going to ignore it and protect our children from hearing artists like rage against the machine spew out thier anger and frustration with it." yeah, i know they aren't censoring all the words, but when you take away some of them, the power is lost. you might as well hit somebody with a foam bat when you are really trying to kill them.  not that i indulge violence in any way.  i think words, music and art are a much better way of getting ideas out there. but how can they ever really get out there if they have bits and pieces cut out of them because some idiots thinks they're preventing the next columbine? how can anybody learn that violence is not the way to settle differences if they are never exposed to different ways, like music and art?

all i can say is, thank god the nazis burned books because not censoring them seems to be the only good thing america has done for our youth lately.
