A Message From Bill Parment

Dear Voter,

As Assemblyman, I have always been guided by common sense, not partisan politics. I've fought for what's important to our families -- good paying jobs, tax relief, quality education and affordable health care.

It's no secret that we need to do more to jumpstart our economy -- to create more good-paying jobs. That's why I fought a battle with the state reform and refinance the Al-Tech loan fund, which is now Chautauqua County's most effective economic development tool, creating over 400 new jobs and saving over 2,220 jobs since 1998. That's why I worked to establish the Southern Tier Railroad Authority, protecting and strengthening the system of railroads that serve Chautauqua industries. And that's why I'll continue fighting for economic development projects that draw on our region's unique strengths.

Our future depends on preparing our childern for tomorrow's jobs. We must provide then with a solid education today. Over the past two years alone, I've worked to provide Chautauqua County schools $13 million over the governor's proposals -- opposing his attempts to cut our school aid that would have raised property taxes an average of 20 percent.

With your vote on November 2nd, I will continue fighting for Chautauqua County families. If you have any questions, or if I can be of assistance, please call my headquarters at 487-0258.

                                                                Sincerely,

                                                                William L. Parment
