A Friend

A friend wipes your
teardrops
before they hit the floor,
a friend offers you a seat
before you knock on the door.
A friend is kind and
gentle
even when your wrong,
a friend will take your burden
and replace it with a song.
a friend will walk beside
you
not in front of or behind,
a friend will always be there
in rain or in sun shine.
If you need this kind of
friendship
please let me be your friend,
and if you stumble or make a slip
I'll stand beside you till the end.
Now that our friendship
has begun
one more person I'd like you to meet,
He is my Fathers Son
He makes our friendship complete.
