Troubleshooting smooth spinning

The Script: You finally got the electrical part of your mendo squared away, and your pumped to see it run. But wait, it still doesn't run well; makeing the motor spin smoothly is a key to a properly running mendo. Here are a few tips to get your motor to spin more smoothly: Make sure your motor is balanced. If the motor bounces or whips around the axis, than one side is heavier than the other. Add weight to the lighter side to fix these problems Make sure the magnets on the base are properly alined. If the motor wobbles than it is out of alignment. From the side view, the motor should be paralell to the grooved base and perpendicular to the mirror. From the top veiw, the motor should be perpendicular to the mirror as well. If the magnets on the base are not tightly held in place than the magnets on the motor will push them out of alinement as it runs. Properly securing the magnets to the base will solve this problem. One thing to remember is that a drastic change of alingment generally does not help. Ussually, it only takes fine tuning the placement of one base magnet to make the motor spin more smoothly.
