Welcome to the JCC Banner Contest!Well...I figured it was about that time. 
CONTEST SPECS
WHAT:
We are now accepting submissions for a new JCC banner. Images used on entries should be Star Wars related, although granted, as evidenced by the current banner, JCC specific humor images are allowed and encouraged. Please make sure all images are within the TOS guidelines and are "family friendly". Participants are asked to include "TheForce.net"on all entries. Participants are also asked to include one of the following on all entries: "Jedi Council Community", "Your Jedi Council Community", or "JC Community". Thank you! 
WHEN:
Sumissions: Monday, November 24 ---> Sunday, December 21 (9 PM JC Time)
Moderator Voting: Monday, December 22 ---> Monday, December 29
New Banner Posted: Thursday, January 1, 2004
WHO:
Anyone and everyone is welcome to participate. Only one submission per user please.
HOW:
Feel free to post your entries publicly in this thread for advice or suggestions. However, please send your final entry links to jedi-mind-trick via PM. Thanks.

I just hope that the banner filesize will be small. This one has been good, but on 56K, some banners just kill my bandwidth.

I could do something about that, but it would lessen the quality of the image, and would not do it without the artist's permission.

I think people know this time not to set things to maximum quality 
Don't know about other versions but defintaly in Photoshop 7 it tells you how long it will take to open on a 56k modem which is what I normally go by (or least told to by my Image Making Lecturer).

I'm not very fond of the current banner. I only wish I could enter the new contest and do things right this time around. But I don't have time.

It does too. It says Your Jedi Council Community, just not in one straight line. Nothing wrong with being a little creative with something that long. It's too long to put it on one line. Your JC Community is a good solution, but other than that, I do like that part of this banner.
Darth_Dagsy: I just hope that the banner filesize will be small.
There's lots of ways to do that, if you know how. I could probably get any banner on the JC smaller without apparent loss in quality.
EDIT: Just one request for banner makers: if you're making a color scheme, please make one easy on the eyes like the current one or the main one.

No no. It says "Jedi Council Your Community"
By a stretch of the imaginiation it could be seen to read "Your Community Jedi Council"
or even "Jedi Your Council Community"
or maybe....possibly.....while doing heavy drugs... "Jedi Your Community Council"
but by NO stretch of the imagination can I read "Your Jedi Council Community." It simply doesn't make sense to read clockwise starting at the bottom left (especially with staggered text). That's not how english reads.
