European Dragons
Adult european dragons may reach a length of sixty feet in length. They, like some other reptiles and snakes, grow during their entire lifetime. Their hind legs are long and very powerful, ending in three-clawed toes in front and a fourth back claw facing inward. The front legs are unusually short and in the males, are small wings (not capable of flying). They possess a long tail.
Their heads are large with long snouts. Their tongue is forked like in snakes. There are many small, sharp teeth in the mouth. They own two large eyes to see in the semidark and a third "eye" (known as the dracontia) in the middle of their forehead. This dracontia allows them to sense the overall light in the surrounding area, enabling them to know when it is to bright for their regular eyes.
This type of dragon, is the only type of dragon that is able to breath fire (unlike popular belief in which all dragons can breath fire). They can produce menthane which they store in a compartment in their stomach. They are then able to belch up the menthane. When this happens, they may choose to snap their teeth together. If they do this hard enough, a spark is produced and then ignites the menthane.
