Biography

It all began in Liverpool back in 1982, with the birth of Chris Barry. A self proclaimed genious and Star Wars fanatic. By the age of 12 Chris heard Oasis for the first time and quickly became their biggest fan. The rolling guitar work of Wonderwall woke up his creative urges, and forced him towards a life in music. When he was 14 he emigrated to Canada, where punk rock became his passion. At age 16 Chris joined his first band, Wealthy Ob$e$$ion. They where Shite, and Chris looked elsewere. After a lot of confusion and misery, Chris finaly formed  -IFR-  with some friends from School. Melody Van Schaik was the first member and the only one to survive in the band to this day. She played Bass. After only a month of jamming, the band entered Laura Secord's battle of the bands, in what was a huge upset -IFR- took a much deserved first place. A week later the band secured a residency at Club Horizons, they lost it on the second show because they where too loud. That same summer -IFR- opened for Tricky woo, at the Mindbomb under the new name Gobi. Soon after the Mindbomb gig, Gobi lost their drummer. Finding a drummer of similar skill and commitment became their full time job for a long time after.

The band decided to play a gig to keep themselves in the game. So they had themselves booked at the 360 in Toronto. This acoustic show was played under the new name Evenstar. That brings us to now.
