BattleCity, or BC whatever you want. Ok so you want to play BC. Well when Tr4c3r is done we will be able to but until then ill give you what I remember.
Getting Started
If you havent already downloaded BC (BattleCity) go and do so at the website. Unzip and install the file into your computer, if you have any problems with the file you should contact either Tr4c3r, RiZeUp, or handydandy Mark. But you should be ok if you have a decent PC.
Done Installing
When you have succesfully installed BC (BattleCity), run the game. You should come to a dialog box. This is where you choose your NAME and PASSWORD. Bye creating a NEW ACCOUNT. When creating a new account remember its ok if you choose not to put your real name on it, make something up. When done doing this the next step is joining the game. When you click the login button you will be forwarded to the Top 20 players with the highest ranks, just so you know. Then you can goto the Daily Bullet which you can chat with anyone in thier cause its a chat room.
Applying For a Job
YOU HAVE A CHOICE, you can either build a city and take care of it (Which is the Mayors job) or be a Commando and defend and attack other cities. Well if your new id go with the commando, but let me tell you its not easy getting hired as a Private. Dont get angry just relax im here to help. If somebody told you about the game try and find them, or if im the mayor of a city try applying to me, I will usually let 1 Newbie on my team. Or just simply ask the person for some help, ask if he can show you the basics? Usually every BC player is helpful.
About Teams
Your team/city will have 4 players working together thats, 1 mayor and 3 commandos. With teams their are many strategys to attacking and defending your cities. But to firgure that stuff out its in the gameplay. The mayor can do numerous things to the city and to his/her players, for EXAMPLE: One of YOUR commandos just bombed YOUR city, and you got very PISSED. The mayor can go into a file and FIRE that commando. The mayor can also HIRE people.
Being Mayor/Building
When building a proper city, you must make houses first to get people, people will want jobs. Then you go from there. It shows you what you can build, but I will tell you again you must build houses before building reaserch or factorys. When the houses have a red ring on them that when its full of people. When the factory or reaserch has a red ring on it, it means the jobs are full. (You should wait untill the rings are full or have fun being in debt).
Points/Orbing
Points are not easy to get, heres how Points work.
Tank kills= 2pts
Cities just over 13 buildings= 20pts
Cities over 21 buildings= 50pts
Thats how you get points. Now orbing is a little harder to understand, YOU ONLY GET ONE ORB PER CITY. To get the 20 or 50 pointers you must orb them. This means you or someone attacks the nearest city. You must drive to the center of your enemy's city and place the orb on the CC (City Center) Thus the city perishes to dust.
Ranks
I dunno but I always loved the BattleCity ranks they always seemed to really have a good impact on its players. Well heres how the ranks go if you dont already know.
Private – 0 points
Corporal – 100 points
Sergeant – 200 points
Sergeant Major – 500 points
Lieutenant – 1,000 points
Captain – 2,000 points
Major – 4,000 points
Colonel – 8,000 points
Brigadier – 16,000 points
General – 32,000 points
Earl – 64,000 points
Duke – 100,000 points
Lord – 200,000 points and above
Only one person ever made it to Lord, I think it was Krazie the 24/7 guy hehe. We used to have a BC Hall Of Fame, I dont know where I can find that. It must be lost somewhere.....UPDATE: BCHOF has been found on Weebo's BattleCity Memorial page.
Items/Turrents
TO PICK UP ITEMS USE LETTER KEYS U & D, U FOR UP AND D FOR DOWN.
You will not be able to shoot without picking up your LASER (its on the ground in your city).
Bombs, double click to activate. 10 secs to blow.
Medkit repairs to full health.
Bazooka like the laser but stand and fire.
DFG: aka mantrap. Trap your enemy in this for 5 secs. (SHOOT EM DED)
Mines, your enemy cant see these.
Orb, this item destroys the city.
Walls, these are used many ways. Block paths, bring one with you to a enemy city, i never did that actually.
Walkie Talkie, dont talk with enemy in radar.
Turrents help defend there are many ways you can use turrents.
Language
For anyone who doesnt know, BC is not like any online game, in this game we keep language clean only when someone is being a prick use ubscean language, BUT NEVER FOR NO REASON AT ALL JUST START CALLING NAMES AND PUTTING PEOPLE DOWN, if what I just said was to happen BattleCity probobly wouldnt have the community it does today.
CHEATERS
Cheaters have been the BIGGEST problem in BatttleCity history. Cheaters are why the game no longer exists, cheaters are why Tr4c3r spend days programing, cheaters are why BATTLECITY was taken offline, BECAUSE OF CHEATERS WE HAVE NO BATTLECITY. Jankos threw his code out after like the 3rd time the server got shut down. Some kind of cheat shutting the server down? This is where ubscene language comes into action....but I never really had a problem with cheaters I always loved BattleCity even if there were people driving over my city to the CC, I didnt care CAUSE I PUT MINES ON IT YOU FUCKS, ALL 9 OF THEM. GAY FGT CHEATERS DIE DIE DIE.I dont know if im the only one who feels this way about cheaters.....
