| The heart of
Sesa's shipping is the transshipping vessel "Orissa" This is
anchored out to sea where there is sufficient water depth for large ore
carriers to be loaded - up to 180,000 DWT. The ore is transferred from
barges tied up on the starboard side by crane across into the ore carrier
tied up on the port side.
Sesa Goa Barge

Sesa Goan iron ore barge moving
downstream on the Mandovi River, adjacent the Marriott Hotel. Where else
in the world could you sit in your hotel and watch your work go by. The
ore is transported about 15 km from the loading bunder to the "Orissa".
Some ore also goes to the Mormugao Port but only 60,000 DWT vessels can
be loaded there.
