King Gregory Ward was a king in a line of many. Gregory was a handsome, white lion who wore a luscious white robe made up of the finest, harvested fur. To match it, a blue-steel crown, silken shirt and pants. And although his parents were now dead, they passed with dignity at a ripe, old age and during their lives they were able to bestow upon Gregory knowledge, wisdom and humility. And Gregory lived up to his name as a generous, strapping lad with utmost maturity, though sometimes he was known to get a little rowdy.
Gregory was held in high regards by his people, for he taxed only what he felt was necessary to run the kingdom. He was still capable of purchasing expensive gowns and other quaint collectables thanks to the fortune left to him by the royal treasury, but most of his gold still went to the people of his kingdom when holding great banquets and other season parties.
The kingdom was well and his reign was almost a complete success. There was but one thing left to do on behalf of his lineage by the will of his parents and that was to expand the kingdom onto the rest of the land that was left to him by his family. And so acting upon his family's final wish, he relocated the castle with the help of a powerful airship and citizens on the ground to the extended land of his pride. Once settled, the land was cultivated and new homes were built. It was truly a grand sight to behind and surely his parents were pleased with him. In addition, in thanks for the safe travels and no one getting hurt, Gregory built a grand cathedral to honor the Light Primes for showering his life with so many pleasantries.

Gregory knew that his parent's land was next to contested territory and just beyond the way was Drakoria and what appeared to be a black castle, but Gregory paid no mind to it. Surely, he could live peacefully with his dark brethren; there was a sizeable area of land separating the two kingdoms after all.
Foolish Gregory was to believe this, for not a day after the celebrations had ended did several royal, dragon guardians from the Dragon Realm Empire appear before King Gregory and his people. They told Gregory that he had built his kingdom and moved his castle onto Emperor Blaze Darkarma's land and they could either leave, or taxes for their presence and recognize Blaze as ruler of these lands. Gregory was dismayed, for these lands were in Kasuria and belonged to his family. Surely, Blaze must have been mistaken and this was all a mere misunderstanding.
Gregory sent a convoy of peaceful furres led by his good, old friend, Richard Tomson, to Drakoria to speak with Blaze in hopes to spark some diplomacy; unfortunately, the convoy was intercepted in the contested zone and all of the men, but one who was spared to return to Gregory, were captured and shipped to Blaze for consumption, including Richard.
Gregory was appalled. How could this be? Why would Blaze be so cruel when all Gregory wanted to do was talk. A dark chapter began that day and many mourned the deaths of their fallen comrades. The citizens cried angrily in the streets for justice to be brought down upon Blaze and the heathens of his land. Gregory knew this meant war and even though this was the last thing he wanted, he knew it had to be done and he rallied those who wished to fight for this cause.

Gregory's army decimated the forces in the contested zone and even captured the soldiers who were supposedly guilty of basically feeding their good men and women to their own evil, hungry emperor. They were returned to the kingdom where public ally executed by decapitation. Gregory was a force to be reckon with. He wore no regal attire nor armor and carried only but a great, alabaster shield with him. But Blaze wasn't about to suddenly give up the claim to what he believed was rightfully his land because Gregory had a large set. He summoned forth his own forces of magi and soldiers and went to battle. The losses were great on both sides and both sides ultimately were at a stalemate. Gregory was tired of losing his friends and neighbors. He didn't care about conquering any more land, but merely wished to preserve the land that rightfully belonged to his from his family. So, Gregory strengthened the borders to the kingdom, ever vigilant knowing that Blaze would send soldiers secretly into the contested area in hopes of building up a sizable attack force through creating encampments. In response, Gregory would mount up a large patrol that would adventure through the contested territory, attacking only those who would deem it fit to assault them first or part of missions to aid other Kasurians in danger.
