The U.S. government says
the
murder
rate in Guyana is three
times higher than the murder rate
in the United States and warns U.S. citizens to use caution
while traveling to and from the
Cheddi Jagan International.
Dear All:
It is indeed sad to hear
that a Minister of the Government of Guyana and his family can
be assasinated in such brutal manner.
The assasination, obviously, shows that the government has lost
its ability to handle violent crime in the country. If a
government can not play its role in ensuring law and order, then
fundamental questions need to be asked of its right to power.
But this ought to be done primarily by the citizens of the land.
As a private foreigner, I can only express my disgust at the
violence.
