Warrior Goddess RitualPUT UP TEMPLEState intent I must arm myself with the qualities of courage, wisdom and strength. Therefore I wish to receive the Rite of the Dedication of the Warrior. I am aware that invoking the powers of the warrior is not a way of gaining power over or causing harm to others. It is a way of taking back control over myself and my lives. It reaffirms my right to make our own decisions and choices. It gives me the confidence and ability to say and do the right thing. Mostimportantly, it allows us to connect with the many aspects of the universal and the Goddess when we most need to. Once I learn to call upon the Warrior Self, I will be able to respond quickly and efficiently whenever I or someone I love isthreatened. I am aware that some of the most powerful warrior work I may be called upon to perform is peaceful in nature, creating change through wisdom and will. This is power indeed. Spirits of the East who teach us of new beginnings, cleanse me with your mighty winds of change. Remove all thoughts of fear and hopelessness that I may be prepared for Transformation this day. Namaste (smudge with incense) Spirits of the South, direction of passion ruled by fire, you speak to us of protection and battle. Present the Shield which will serveto defend me. This shield is of psychic protection and strength and is empowered by a symbol of protection. (see that symbol clearly in your mind and feel your energy blending with it. Now mentally project into it what you require it to do for you) “Shield which is my defense and protection, in the presence of the Goddess and all gathered as witness, by earth, water, fire and air, you are called Ki no dashikata. As I call upon you, so shall you respond to my need. Spirits of the West, your life giving waters speak to us also of endings and death. Present the Sword that will serve as meoffensive weapon. This sword serves as a symbol of justice tempered with wisdom. It is to remind me of my sacred duty as a warrior. It is not used in revenge, but is used as a symbol of protection. (see that symbol clearly in your mind, then mentally sear it onto the weapon. Feel your energy blending with the sword. Now mentally project into it what you require it to do for you)Sword which is my ally in battle, in the presence of the Universe and the Goddess by earth, water, fire and air, I call you kensho. As I call upon you so shall you respond to my need. The Shield called Ki no dashikata and the Sword called kensho. These serve as my newly charged armaments of defense and offense. In order to call up the power of these tools I need only to take a deep breath, center my energy and say their names three times. I must also conjure up the image of the secret symbols that I projected onto your tools during this ritual. The combination of the name and mental image will stir my Shield and Sword to life whether they are physically with me at the time or not. They will also bring my Warrior Self to the surface. I will use the energy of my Shield when I need to have defense and the Sword when I must go on the offense. SACRED VOWS OF THE WARRIOR GODDESS (Insert vows here) I am the Warrior called Phoenix Marishiten. Spirit of the North, you speak to us of strength of purpose. In yourlands vows are sealed. Bestow upon me, Phoenix Marishiten, the Warrior's cord. This cord is the warrior’s symbol of rank. It serves to remind me of my vows and obligations. I will wear it with great honor
