Tywyn hosts several Sea Angling competions throughout the year and for the serious fly fisher native brown trout can be caught at lake Talyllyn (by arrangement with the lakeside hotel) and the Cregennan Lakes are stocked with rainbow trout (permit required).
The waters off of Barmouth offers sea fishing for Mackerel, Dogfish and Skate, whilst the Mawddach Estuary is famed for Salmon and Sea Trout.
