Description
Quintas Tunavrael appears much as your typical elf, slim of build, beautiful of feature, yet not so graceful in step.Quintas prides himself on his golden hair, allowing it to flow to his lower back unhindered.Quintas' emerald green eyes won him sighs from many an elfmaid, shining as they do with vigor, intelligence, and wonder at all they see.Usually,he can be found wearing fine robes, and silk slippers, however, his new life of adventure leaves him in a muddy common robe, worn leather sandals, and a rather nasty disposition. His books, inks, and other scribe tools are stuffed into sacks, not arranged neatly on oaken shelves,as he is used to.You try going from marble halls,to a glorified sewer, and see how you fare.
History
Quintas is the only child of Prince Sormain "Scorch" Tunavrael,a Bladesinger of Cormanthor, and Ariel Silverbow,a Priestess of Sehanine Moonbow.Prince Sormain and his wife fought the Baatezu,Tanar'ri,Drow, and other evils that have infested Cormanthor.Fearing for his safety in the region of the once mighty Myth Drannor,Sormain sent his son to foster in Leuthilspur at the age of three yaers, with Lady Aofe Namsilor of Evermeet,a cousin to the Tunavrael family.Quintas' early years were spent much as any elf's in such an idyllic place, full of laughter, good friends, and high spirits.Lady Aofe tutored Quintas in the ways of wizardry, capitalizing on his keen mind, and youthful vigor.Quintas took to magic with an ease that impressed Lady Aofe, and other mages in Court. His attention to detail with illusions, his personal charm enhancing his enchantments, and his wisdom in the proper application of spells filled Lady Aofe with pride.Quintas was praised, encouraged, and respected by his peers, and elders. He was charming, courteous, and mindful to the needs of others. Life passed by in such fashion until his 123rd birthday, when he received word from Cormanthor that his parents had been slain by Baatezu.Quintas withdrew from those who had meant much to his life, and Lady Aofe was worried that he would will himself to pass from this life.He would sit for days by an old oak,and stare into the sky, sometimes mouthing words with no sound.Quintas spent an unusually large amount of time in the reverie, bringing forth images of his parents from the past. After one long night of a full moon,Quintas informed Lady Aofe that he must leave Evermeet, never to return. He told her that Sehanine had come to him,and granted him audience with his parents. They had charged him with a solemn duty, one that may take centuries to bring about.Lady Aofe was horrified, and afraid, when Quintas informed her that his destiny to restore Myth Drannor to it's former splendor, and that he would roam Faerun to find what power, magics and allies he could to aid this cause.Aofe beseeched the Queen to speak with Quintas,in the hope that Her Majesty's words might carry more weight with the younger elf. When he was summoned to meet with the Queen of Evermeet,Quintas spoke to Her Majesty, and Noble Families of his vision. The Queen voiced her concern over Quintas' mental health, given his seemingly human lust for power, however justified he may see it.She warned him of the destructive power that such ambitions hold for the unwary.Quintas knew what he must do,however, and the Queen applauded him for his conviction, and prayed that Sehanine would guide his hand wisely.Quintas left Evermeet the next morning, with no fanfare, and nary a friend but for the Lady Aofe to wish him safe journey.Armed with his spells, his knowledge, and his vision of the future,Quintas felt indestructible. His ship was bound for the city of Waterdeep. The City of Splendors. This city would be the perfect place to begin his quest.
