Neopets is one of the largest online virtual pets community, with lots of dragonlike thingies to adopt- give it a go!
I will eventually have an account here- Elfwood is an enormous artist community with tonnes of great pictures of all sorts of dragons, wyverns, drakes.. the list goes on.
Has an extensive archive of fanfiction, including some from the Dragonheart movies.
