Pokemon on the bench have to be thought of too. If your defending pokemon is about to be KO, then start powering up another pokemon on the bench to get it ready for battle!
The best Trainer cards are those that allow you to search for cards in your deck and put them in your discard pile. (nah, just joking, in your hand.)
Legendary pokemon are most often powerful, but the have their drawbacks. Take Team Aqua's Kyogre for example. Its Poke-Body does not allow it to fight unless there are 3 pokemon with Team Aqua in their name in play. Sheesh.
Tons of pokemon on your bench does not mean you will surely win. Always remember, there is a limited amount of prizes...
Be bloodthirsty. KOing your opponent is your main objective so add a lot of advantage- giving cards.
