Cages

Cages are light, easy to clean and offer good ventilation.

They are also available in many different sizes, colors and shapes.

Different accessories such as ladders, tunnels and or even extra platforms can easily be attached to the metal bars.

Cages are sturdy and are fun for your rats as they as they can climb on the bars for extra exercise!

As well as this, there are also very few disadvantages:

• These are: that bedding, in some cages, can easily fall out between the bars.

• The wire bars can also cause ‘bumble foot’-sores on the bottom of rat’s feet, if they spend too much time standing/climbing on the wire bars.
• If a cage is in the wrong place, it can be very draughty so it ay cause respiratory infections (rat 'colds').
  Its best to keep your rats out of direct sun light, as they easily over-heat and prefer the shade. Also, try to keep the cage away from dusty areas and draughts.
