Thick black double doors open up to present this impressive open room. It seems to set the atmosphere of the house as servants in Sarand livery buzz from room to room about their daily tasks. A massive gold chandelier with firedrops scattering light about the room lights the room with its many no doubt difficult candles to light. Polished black marble floors with gold specks in them cover the entire floor, with a large area rug in the center to keep guests from slipping on its slick surface. On the east wall of the front room is another thick black door with a golden door handle that must be the study. A large sweeping staircase, with gold lacquered rails, draws attention with its midnight black carpet, and its golden rods that hold the carpet in place. Under the stairs is a rather ordinary archway that leads deeper into the house, and at the base of the stairs is a set of black wood framed doors set with beveled glass revealing an entrance to the ballroom.
