Our Happy Tails

Here are some of the success stories we have had. Enjoy!!!

Brownie

Brownie, an Italian Greyhound/Rat Terrier mix, came to us from a shelter in Mississippi. His owner became ill and could no longer care for him. So, this poor sweetheart was sent away from the only home he knew. He was sooo scared!! When we got him, he was most likely to be found hiding under something. After a little time, Brownie realized that he was safe, and started coming out to see what was going on in the world. He soon became a clown in our house...running all over, playing with the other dogs and cats, and just generally being silly. What a wonderful transformation!

Brownie's endearing qualities caught the attention of a young woman in Atlanta, GA. Alison, although never having had a dog before, was very enamored of the Italian Greyhound breed. She had dog-sat for several friends, and finally decided she wanted one for her own. She happened to see Brownie on PetFinder.com, and said it was love at first site!! After meeting all the requirements for adoption, she took Brownie home. Alison says that Brownie is everything she ever hoped for in a companion....fun, loving, and always there for her. Now that they have found each other, happiness has a whole new meaning.

Good luck, you two!!!

Patchy

Patchy came to us from the same shelter in Mississippi. He, like Brownie, lost his owner to illness, and was terrified of everyone. Once he arrived, we knew he was very special, and showered him with love. He finally realized that he was safe, and quickly learned to fit in. He became a complete lap baby, wanting to be hugged and kissed as much as possible by everyone he met. Patchy, unfortunately, was heartworm positive when he arrived, but once treatment was given, he was good as new!!

Stacey, his new Mom, is an interpreter at the school for the Blind and Deaf in Talladega. She had been looking for just the right companion, one that could she could share with the people she worked with. She saw Patchy, and came to meet him. He was so tickled to meet her, that he puppy kissed her almost the entire time she was here. It's a match made in heaven, and Patchy will be dearly loved by everyone he meets.

Good luck, you two!!!

Jenny

Jenny came to us as an owner surrender. She was older, and we weren't sure if we would be able to find a home for her. Since she was developing cataracts, we decided her best shot at a furever home would be with someone older, so that fast movements wouldn't scare her.

When Edward Kyle decided he wanted to have a companion, he started looking on the web for what he thought would be the perfect dog. He was retired, and was ready to be loved and give love to a dog that would be able to relax and be happy with him. Then he saw Jenny, and knew she was the one for him. After applying and waiting, the happy moment finally came as Jenny went all the way to Chattanooga, TN to be with her new Daddy. Now they are both happy, and have the love they were both looking for!!

Good luck you two!!

Missy

Missy was turned into a shelter because her owner was being shipped overseas due to being in the military. He didn't have a family that could take her, so gave her a chance at a good life with a new family. She was sent to our rescue because she was terrified in the shelter, and, with her missing one eye, no one wanted to look twice at this gorgeous little girl.

Meanwhile, a lady named Roxanne all the way over in Arizona decided that she wanted to adopt, but could never find quite what she was looking for in her area. Finally, she decided to look a "tiny bit" further afield, and saw Missy. It was love at first sight!! After much work, and alot of waiting while transportation could be arranged, Missy finally arrived at her new home just before New Year's. Looks like they both got what they wanted for Christmas this year!!

Good Luck you two!!!
