Completing this exercise demonstrates that you understand what is expected of you as a UMUC student, and that  you have the skills to get around in WebTycho. 

Without them, you are DOOMED. 

Your tasks are to:

1. How many students are in our class? (Hint: Get this from "Class members")

2. When are the due dates for the student selected projects? (Hint: Get this from the Syllabus under "Course Schedule")

3. What percentage of your total course grade is your weekly participation and what criteria will I use to grade you? (Hint: Get this from the Syllabus under "Grading Information")

4. Which edition of Sociology in Changing World is required? (Hint: Get this from the Syllabus under "Course Materials")

5. What is my policy regarding late assignments? (Hint: Find this under the "Policy Statement for SOCY100" in the conference called Essential Course Documents)

6. What is my teaching philosophy? (Hint: Get this from "Bios")

7. What is a common error with respect to posting an image in a text file? (Hint: Get this from "How to Post an Image in a Text File" under Course Content)  

8. (a) Where do you post assignments that are to be graded? (b) Where can you find information about the grade you received for an assignment?

9. When you write text in the Web Tycho text box, you may experience question marks (???...) replacing some of the other features (e.g., quotation marks), when you copy and paste from MS Word and Office XP.  What steps do you need to take to prevent this from occurring? 13. (a) What are the THREE most important foundations for successful class participation in this course?  (b) Which of the SEVEN suggestions on how to respond to conference assignments do you think will be the most difficult for you to master? The least difficult? (Hint: Find this under "Guidelines for Conference Participation" in the Essential Course Documents conference).
