ABOUT ME
I was born in Mountain Home, Idaho, in March of 1980. I spent six years on a beautiful 250 acre farm in Dayton, Washington, the next twenty in the Boise area, and for the last few I've been enjoying a late-twenties quarter-life crisis, traveling around the United States, searching for a place that feels like home. I have lived in Iowa, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and Louisiana, and I'm currently residing in Southwestern New York.
My ultimate goal is to become a novelist and to write Speculative Fiction. I began writing when I was eleven and knew immediately that it was what I wanted to do. Many thanks to my dear friend, Ariel, for turning me onto books and setting the course of my life. I conceived my current book when I was sixteen, and have spent the intervening years honing my craft, which has included earning a Bachelors of Arts in English with a Writing Emphasis from Boise State University. Sadly, you can't get experience without experience, and several versions, and a thousand discarded pages later, I'm currently plugging away at the final incarnation of this piece.
Cardigans are my second love, and Golem was the first object of my affection. I fell for his dark blue color and bright tan points the day he was born, and was lucky enough to get him. GoGo turned out to be a perfect first show dog, though he certainly spoiled me. He finished quickly, and I was hooked.
I love good anime, and Cowboy Bebop is the reason I have Cardigans. I was thinking about getting a dog when I started watching it, and one of the characters is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi named Ein. I did acquire a Pembroke shortly after that, and when I decided I wanted to show dogs I turned to Cardigans, as they are more mellow, didn't need to be docked, and are slightly easier to finish. When it came time to name my kennel I wanted something anime related, in homage to my Cardi-owning origins. My kennel name comes from my favorite series, Fullmetal Alchemist, or Hagane no Renkinjutsushi, which is abbreviated to "FMA" in the United States, and to "Hagaren" in Japan.
