The School gives two distinct programs: a humorous programme of Creation for the humorists and a humorous programme of Writing for the authors.

The School adopts a teaching approach centered on a hands-on training which aims at recreating the difficult conditions prevailing on the labour market. For this purpose, it supports the production of texts, numbers and spectacles as well as the use of various means of diffusion (radio, television, scene, new media).

The School stresses also an individualized teaching . Each pupil is regarded as a single case. He (it) receives a support personalized through multiple individual meetings in order to ensure for each one an original and authentic creation.

In June 1999, in his evaluation report of program, the Commission of evaluation of collegial teaching affirms: " the national School of humour prepares its pupils well to follow the occupation of humorist and to integrate the labour market. The bonds with the work context, the relevance and the coherence of the formation, the teaching methods centered on an approach practises, the framing and the follow-up of the members of the teaching staff, the training course, the rate of diplomation constitutes the principal forces of the program."


The professors all are of the experts of the medium of the humour presenting of the impressive passenger waybills. This enables them to return account of the needs and requirements for the medium in addition to constituting possible employers, guarantors or intermediaries of employment for finishing.

The professors are also selected to represent various fields even different tendencies. The School thus plans, in the succession of its professors, a sequence of influences which will make it possible to the pupil to live diversified experiments which will lead it to make its own choices.


The national School of humour is a single place making it possible to develop its full humorous potential. The School makes it possible to test and reflect on the things of humour and this, intensively, framed professionals practising this trade and sharing same passion: humour!


The four principal objectives of the training scheme are:
The knowledge of the principles, processes, techniques, contexts of application and elements of reflexion allowing the pupil to include/understand, structure and manage its comic potential.

The development of a rigorous working method which supports a particularly significant rate/rhythm of production raised in humour, taking into account the speed of consumption of the humorous product.

The development of a versatility allowing an adaptation to the various contexts of use of the humorous material and in parallel of a specificity in its performance to make a single and original product of it.

An opening on creation and the cultural medium allowing a total comprehension of the role and responsibility for the humorist in the company.
